Personally I would like to see more advantage given to the leaders after the regular rounds and it be made progressively hard for teams that finished below them to win the GF. However, we have to play the cards we are dealt.

2011 Play-Off Total Attendances = 76,544 from 8 games.
2010 Play-Off Total Attendances = 94,573 from 8 games.

2010 - GF = 71,526, therefore total attendance = 166,099
2011 - GF = 69,107, therefore total attendance = 145,651
2012 - GF = 70,676, therefore total attendance = 145,600

Average over 4 years = 147,401

Therefore Durhams guestimate of 150,000 as a ballpark figure is absolutely spot on.

12 of the 15 finals have featured the team that finished top of the league. 8 of the 15 have been won by the team that finished top. No team that has finished lower than 2nd has ever beaten the team that finished 1st in a Grand Final. No team has won their first Superleague title from any position other than 1st. The last 7 Grand Finals have been won by either the team that finished 1st or Leeds.

Even under the top 8 you are still more likely to win from 1st than any other position.

Finishing 1st does convey an advantage in the play offs, quite clearly. Please do not mistake the fact that Leeds have won the last 2 finals from 4th and 5th convey the idea that it doesn't matter where you finish. It doesn't matter where you finish if you've won 5 of the last 7 Grand Finals. It matters hugely if you haven't.

I think everyone needs to seperate the internet from real life. As we go in Rickys before most home games we end up chatting to alot of away fans and their views about us tend to be very different from what seems to be the everyone is out to put us down view on here.

Nobody is daft enough to suggest that the two Grand Finalists and eventual Super League champions should be denied the financial fruits of their Old Trafford qualification in favour of a team who only finished 1st during a regular season pre-qualification phase?

If we live we will make history when the present time has passed, but whether there is such a thing as the present, is also a moot point.
