| Thought it was gonna be one of those games where we score they score we score etc and in the end we were gonna get caught out !.
But we showed resiliance and pulled through and i agree about Kirmo...thought he was probably our best forward yesterday ( i dont class Jerry as a forward even though he probably makes more yards) i actually thought Kyle Wood looked comfortable too and obviously is benefiting from a few 1st team games.
Horne looked half decent too yesterday
and Andy Raleigh can't be overlooked after that show
Pleased to come home and pleased with a win with a very weakened side too.

| Kirmond was great but Fooey ran the show IMO.
Raleigh ran and tackled hard, shame he had the ball stripped as he deserved the try.
Wood showed some good sense and maturity, certainly deserves his spot at the moment.
Griff, Patrick and Crabtree had their best games for a while.
All in all good stuff, not back to our best but on the way back up.
I think LOD and Doof are going to have to earn their places back.

Being a b&w thru & thru it's always a good option to put him in against Kingston Rovers.

| well Horne proved the point last night.... we need a big strong pacy centre not horne but someone a class above..... big pats on the back to Eorl, AR, GH, SG, LR, GM, smaller ones to larne, KW, and two outstanding ones to DK and a man of the match performance from the FOO........ showing once again that he is without doubt the best overseas signing we have made in recent years.....
had we played like that at 'cas' we would have won going away...... i have to question Joe wardle at centre.... horne got exposed by webster for pace but mainly cos Brough shot out of the line and opened the gap..... but in general looked better than JW has done recently.... but onwards and upwards it makes the saints game interesting.....

agree faiumu right up there with the best
that webster try was a shocker, grix should of at least made an attempt and horne gave him abit too much room
dont forget horne had a shocker at centre v wire not so long ago, one good game doesnt make him the best centre option but was brilliant last night

| The more I see of wood the more I like, he is really gaining in confidence it's a shame that when the injured players come back he will lose his spot.

| Yeah first up I was a little critical of Wood for passing too soon, Jerry could have gone all the way with a later pass I think but on the replay it was obvious wood had to pass, top marks for getting the ball away then going down.

| i thought the signs were there last week at cas, we look to be getting over the slump particularily on attack, defence too was a lot better for me, the last 2 rovers try were superb would have been scored against most other teams. Agree kirmond had a strong game, but thought fuey and robbo were superb, wood gets better every game, walker did ok when he came on and having watched game again thought fairbank made a good go of it especially in defence, 2 weeks to saints game and browny said on his interview on sky players should be back for then, noticable how other than carney sky didnt really mention our injuries though.

| I thought Fairbank did well on debut, in attack he might have struggled to make the Yards of other players but in defence he was everywhere and he tackled pretty much anything. Great effort from all the players yesterday and i think the fringe guys have given Brown alot to think about, i hope Wood is ok he looks a class act, very quick acceleration and thinks fast on his feet. We just need to get our players back and take advantage of Saints after the big derby on Saturday!

So we weren't making a game of it when we got to within one try of them on two occasions in the second half?

| thought, faiumu, kirmond, cudjoe and horne in particular, were very good
kyle wood looked very assured and not out of place one bit, didn't think walker of fairbank did themselves any harm either.
as for the game, it was pretty tense for 60 minutes until our superior class came through eventually and i was pleased with the response when rervers hit back.fair play to rervers though they stuck at it and didn't roll over.
funny though how sky never mentioned our "depleted" squad, or how our team of "kids" were magnificent like they would have done with some other clubs who have had a few injuries.

| Good turn out from the Rovers mob on a Saturday night after they had conceded 50 in the previous big cup game at Saints.
Credit where it's due.
