He was lonely and missing his try scoring machine of a cousin last night !

Wigan defended like demons and were worthy winners but the thing that disappointed me most about our performance was the lack of competitivity around the ruck. It seemed to be much more important to Wigan to get up and play the ball quickly. They were making good yards and we didn't react or even compete in that area.

Wigan played the game really well last night. Up and playing the ball quickly when attacking and doing enough wrestle in defence to limit our attack without being penalised.

No wonder Quinns crowds are so low. Who wants to stand beside somebody who comes out with drivil like that

ATEOTD forward passes didn't decide the game and they certainly didn't ruin it.

I would however think the lines-men do need to start calling them as it is near impossible for the ref to judge unless it is massively forward and he is well positioned. The lines men have the best view and are in the best position to call it.

That cut out pass from Brough he knocked on wasn't his fault really. The pass was awful, Hodgson was in the air trying to take it and the overlap wasn't even on.

As others have said the scoreline doesn't do you justice. We edged it but we weren't 3 scores better in my opinion.

as i saw it
wigan's defence was outstanding, our attack left a lot to be desired, but the 2 can be matched up, we were taking the wrong options and silly passes at times because we were frustrated in our lack of ability to break them down/their defence standing strong,it was just one of those nights for us but all credit to the opposition at the same time.
despite the forward passes ,of which i counted 6 clear cut,no messing FORWARD passes,and the ability of wigan to hold on in the tackle for an extra 4 seconds,they deserved the win as they took the very few chances they got and defended their line very well,although i do think the 14 point margin flattered them.

have to also agree that we seemed to lack urgeny at the PTB's think it was danril who said it?
we seemed very sluggish in both attack and defence tonight,but im sure brownyand baloo will work on that this week.

Dissapointed, but take nothing away from Wigan - their defence was superb and i said at the game their doing to us what we usually do to others with their defence......nothing was getting through them which obviously frustrated our guys which led to the panic rugby we saw in the 2nd half.

Thought Thaler pandered to them a little bit and did give them a little bit of help but was in no way to blame for the result.

Our backs - Grix apart - were awful but maybe that was down to frustration because they werent allow to play their normal

Brutal game and great entertainment. Just wanted to give a big thank you to the Hudds fans for not coming on to our board en-masse and whineing about tackling/wrestling, cheating, dirty play and generally making complete assholes of yourselves in the way that everybody else does. Thanks guys, pity that others cannot be as gracious in defeat. Unlike other teams you really were the fancied team tonight and i am sure many of you expected a win as i am sure that the vast majority of wigan fans would have expected a Hudds win. I am sure you are disappointed, but despite that, you have all given balanced and sensible posts.

When a team pressurises for 65 minutes and can only score one try, they don't deserve to win.

Wigan's defence was awesome [I've a few fingers down my throat as I write this!.

Wigan attacked for 15 minutes and scored 3 tries. They deserved to win.

we try and be gracious in victory or defeat but some let others down


as it happens,we all know how wigan play the game( we were doing it a year before wigan lol),we all saw what they were doing and getting away with it,but it didn't affect the game or the result so no point moaning about it.

I am surprised when mentioning the 3/4s generally in a justifiably none too complimentary manner no mention has been made of Joe Wardle who I thought had a very solid game, pulling off one try-saving tackle in particular in the first half. He looked a useful prospect when we played at Wakefield, sending in Johnson with a beautiful piece of centre play. It was interesting to note that none of Wigan's tries came on our left-hand side. All credit to the lad.

Wigan owe their win to a superb defence, faultless, the Giants forwards did a great job, l would guess 60% possesion and 70% territory, but the backs were woeful, Grix was his usual steady self another solid game, and had the easiest job on the night, Brown was given a lesson by lockers in how to control a game, pity he always has to have some afters, the rest of the backs were average, with Cudjoe and Simpson being my worst 2 players on the field.
l have never questiones Nathan Browns tactics, but why did he leave out McGilvery our in form stricker, and Lawrence, in my opinion Cudjoe needs some time in the reserves and Simpson unless he bucks his ideas up, a plane ticket back to Sydney.
lts early days and some strange scores all round, but we need 3 out of the next 4 to keep on track for top 4 spot.

All players in the England Knights training squad would be dropped, NB said it earlier in the week that includes Jerry & Bruno - only Lunt played and his performance was no where near where it has been this season. ATEOTD if you have a big game coming up but some of your key players are missing training sessions due to international commitments then ithey aren't going to be able to perform to their best.

Wardle had a good debut in a very difficult game, will take a lot of confidence from this game.
