There is a very obvious solution to this which was touched on earlier. The crowd join in with the 'We all hate Lids' because of the music being played by after a try is scored.

The club need to take the lead and operate an American style of geeing up the crowd with music and images on the screen. It may be simplistic and a but 'junior school' but we can see it works already.

Also the Riverside is the family stand therefore I would expect there to be less singing in that stand that the Kilner Bank stand.

If the atmosphere iis good from the start of the game then we usually continue throughout the game e.g. Hull game. So things like getting the crowd going before the game would be perfect. What about having the words for Wise Men on the screen before kick off with music so we can all sing it, make it our anthem. It may well get people in the mood to sing during the game.
Also i cant come to the game on saturday since i am in New York, which is why im gutted.

What I do find odd is that you are spouting about the atmosphere - wanting a create an atmosphere at the play off and are not even attending yourself. Some would rightly call it hypocritical.

Like I say my son loves going to the matches even at Laund hill!!! Yeah he's disapointed when Big G isn't up there but it never deters him from singing. He also loves any mascot regardless of who team they represent. He never shuts up at matches and loves everybody around him. I personally can't comment on my atmosphere generating as many on here know why!!! I am all for it but without a drum and certainly not standing

An atmosphere can be generated in our stadium regardless of numbers but with the mingling of fans from all ages in all stands you will get odd looks or told to shut up.

As for the dig about Catalans surely many will understand that going there doesn't give you one upmanship and thats why Wadski's replied how he did. Catalans is a very costly expense and also time consuming so many can't make it for what ever reason so it shouldn't be judged on whether folk go to that one! I've personally been all but two Giants matches all season Catalans being one and Saints the other but that doesn't make me any better supporter than someone who goes to fewer we all have valid reasons for why we can't make certain games! Catalans for example my son started full time school last wednesday and to go to France would've meant him missing at least one day which isn't good when he's only just started!!

Whats wrong with wanting a good atmosphere at a game i am not a, as it is a important game it will help the team. I would have never mentioned the catalan game if you did not try do one over on me. It's more the way you are going about it. I appreciate your sentiments but you are preaching to the converted and people who have heard this argument many, many times in the last three years. People who have created an atmosphere for many seasons and feel that maybe someone else should take the lead. There is no 'ring-leader', nobody to get things started and unless someone either takes on the role or (as I mentioned earlier) the club take on the role, then very little will change.

You have the sentiment right but are speaking to the wrong the people in the wrong manner. These guys are the ones who do something, who sing, who get passionate.

Well that is fair enough as i do not know you by sight i dont know who i am talking to but you obviously know who the singers are on this forum. As a group however we can do more to get others involved as we all have ideas.

i'll sing along with anything but the "we all hate Lids" thing is tiresome and boring and the last thing the Kilner Bank needs is a flaming drum, bring a drum in the Kilner and our little crowd will move elsewhere.

having returned from perpignan where the atmosphere was as bad as it is at the galpharm, we came to the conclusion that our supporters are simply not interested in making noise and singing/shouting for the team etc, they are happy to sit and watch and applaud when we score etc but dont want to make noise, thats their choice and i respect that.our catalans supporting drinking buddy says we were the quietest fans to go to perpignan this season,however last game with not a lot to play for is understandable i suppose.
however, the atmosphere at home games is as poor as i can remember it being in over 20 years,as people have touched upon on here it hasn't been helped by the season ticket thing,but people can still choose to sit in the kilner bank and join in with the vocal support if thats what they want to do.
i can see where eaton and conorgiantsfan are coming from regards idea's to help liven the solemn mood at home games, but i dont think singing football songs that wannabe ultra's sing is the way to go guys,as for drums,not for me, once in a while to get a chant going is fine but not a constant banging for 80 minutes thank you.what some of the younger fans on here should realise though is that while danril and wadski may come across as beeing miserable old gits,what they are trying to say is that most of us on here are the singers! or have been for the last god knows how many years and we are the ones that do try but it comes to a point where you realise people just want to sit and watch the game im afraid.
we also have a lot of " older" supporters who have stuck with the club through the dark days and they remain mainly our core support,we haven't been lucky in the fact that 2 generations of our support was lost and therefore haven't been able to attract young impressionable supporters which we are starting to do now.
as for having no songs, well you cant have been to many away games

It was not that big group staying in spain but rather some staying in the town i dont know their names at all. The other were fine, it was good to see you all outside that bar next to that castle thing.

yes i was with them,stayed in the same hotel, were absolutely no bother from what i say though,even though it was a bit boisterous at times but the locals were just as boisterous at 1am too though

You're having a go at the singers for singing. This is a basic, fundamental flaw and I've already tried to highlight this to you but it seems to be a bit above your level. It isn't the singers that are the problem, it's the non-singers. Find a way to engage those non-singers and you have solved it. It's not an easy answer though is it. Is that why you persistently keep ignoring it?

You think I'm having a go at you? Well as I have said numerous times now but you keep ignoring, you are having a go at the singers and disrespecting their efforts. You may be attempting to help but you aren't helping at all. You are criticising and complaining without offering a single decent solution to the problem you're complaining about. It's a complete waste of time, especially when there's a huge game on this weekend.

And as an aside, I bet seeing as these half 4rsed ones that wont part with £15 wont turn in this weekend that the atmosphere will probably end up being much better, result & performance of course playing a part.

I did not realise that you all were the core singers then that is why i was wondering why you replyed back like you did. I do go to all the away games and i only hear 6 songs which i have counted however it is not you lot that sing them its the other younger lads that do that, that is why i thought that, it is obviously just a few of you whom sing the more older one's as i dont hear them due to the small numbers of you who sing them. I will bring it up at the SA tonight as Jamer Brammar will be present so i will mention how a fair few fans would like a better atmosphere and i shall put forward a few ideas, and what we can do.
