Going back to the actual subject of the thread..I would love to go to all the away games however I simply cannot afford. You are looking at £20 average for each game and then the petrol/parking or coach fare etc to get there. It all mounts up and when you don't have the spare money you simply cannot do it. It isn't always a case of 'people can't be bothered to go'. Perhaps if you add all the away games into the season ticket and subsidise the travel then the away crowds will increase....Otherwise I dont see it changing a great deal. People have (dare I say it) more important things to spend their money on like a mortgage and bills and you will never get away from that, especially with a huge proportion of our support being families.

. So, much as you like Hull, many people who have experience of living there clearly don't.

Just explain how you've come to that conclusion again please.



As for the channel 4 "survey" its got so many holes in it I can only assume they got the 15 year old work experience kid to do the research.

Hull has its crappy areas like all cities but I'd still rather live here than some of the other places I have lived in.

As for your statement about nobody caring about away support, perhaps your directing that at the wrong person. This 4 page long thread was started by a Huddersfield fan to discuss Huddersfields away support so clearly people do care, including your own fans.

And the East Riding where i live which is only 5 miles from Hull City centre was voted best place to live in the country at the same time, so it just goes to show don't believe everthing you hear

And back on the subject of getting away fans to venues such as the KC,couldn`t you e-mail the club and try and get some really good discount if so many turn up,it must be better for them,if you could fill the north stand paying a fiver each,rather than the usual dozen turn up paying £23 or whatever.

Thankyou for a civil answer. Didn't want it to descend into a "my dad's bigger than your dad" competition, I'm just genuinely curious. I can't understand why, despite your progress and success over the past few years, your fans "can't be bothered/aren't interested"! The clubs given out freebies and reduced season passes to save money. A lot of clubs' fans would give their right arm for that. Maybe it's signing Graeme Horne has dented people's faith in the club's judgement

we had atmosphere when KR came in their thousands for the cup game ,well for the first 10 minutes anyway



as for our support at hull, well as the game has recently been played on friday nights thats a few hundred knocked off for a start, the price is also off putting for some as katy alluded to, but a lot of our fans have long memories and remember what happened to us at the boulevard and vowed never to return to hull again,obviously things are miles better at the KC but you can understand people not wanting to go back.
as for sunday, word is that west yorkshire police ( who no doubt will be out in force as is usual when any of the hull clubs come to town

) estimate 2-2500 hull fans so someone best ring em and tell em to double that figure then

If the Police estimate it's 2-2500 it will be that regardless what is said on here!! Just like in the cup the KR fans on here and in the ground were saying they were bringing 6000 and they didn't get anywhere near that! Interesting how the Police are involved as Giants games are usually Police free!! Unless the teams are from Hull, Leeds and Manchester!

TBH I can believe that as last season they were pretty rowdy goading the Giants fans. But then again they had just won 5 in a row and were top of the league when we last played them at the Stadium!

but sad in that the only 2 giants fixtures where the police plan in advance for any trouble is hull and hull kr dont you think?

It's a legal requirement at [uany[/u sporting event for coach operators to notify numbers to the police. This obviously doesn't take into account the numbers of supporters travelling by car and, judging by the traffic jams that we invariably get stuck in from the exit on the M62 to the ground, it's feasible to expect 3,500 - 4,000 don't you think?




Really? I was there, in the away end, which contained only Hull fans and heard nothing other than the usual singing/chanting that goes on, without comment, at every other ground in SL. Saw and heard nothing other than NORMAL banter on the way out either.

I still doubt this will attract that many across as you've never filled the away stand even last season you didn't bring 3000 and you were on the back of that run!




I was near the coaches and there was banter yes but also some little oiks giving it all this and that to the Giants fans as they passed. It's a true reality that our local Police look at the Giants fixtures and pin point 4 matches were they the look to seek their presence meaning a bill for the Giants!! And Hull FC is one of those 4!

That pretty much covers the whole of SL (barring Harlequins, Crusaders and the Dragons, whose away fans can be contained by a 70 year old steward)!
