At the end of the day no -one knows what has happened who approached who first, who let a rumour slip to someone in the hope it would make it's way to a player.

Everyone has some interest in this deal and everyone has some interest in coming out of it whiter than white.

There is not a player in SL who is coming up to OOC who does not ask his agent to make a few phone calls to see what some other team may offer him depending on certain circumstances.

All i would say is that the sooner it is done the better for Wakey, Brough and the Giants. Who said what and when is just all smoke and mirrors. Both clubs have staff who are well versed in both arts.


The only time you can be satisfied with any player is the ones who stay with their home town club whatever the temptations are elsewhere. they are the ones i would respect.

I suppose if Huddersfield want Brough it would make sense (assuming a deal can be agreed) to get him now rather than wait till the end of the season when he is out of contract and fair game for any club wanting a decent English half back (of which there aren't that many in SL).
However it depends whether a deal can be thrashed out that is agreeable to Wakefield and Huddersfield. If the brass is on the table then it's bound to be agreeable to Broughy.

If Huddersfield did tap him up ( only DB and Huddersfield will know the truth on that one) I'm sure they won't be the first and they won't be the last club to do that. To believe all is fair and equal is niaeve to say the least. That's not to say I like it or condone it, but I'm realisitc enough to understand it probably happens
Most clubs have lost what they consider to be a 'marquee' player over the years but they're still around.

So to Huddersfield and DB and Wakefield to some extent, either pee in the pot or get off. I'm not bothered one way or t'other.

I would hate us to lose Raleigh he is Mr Huddersfield. I rate Kirmond so much that he would be a loss to the team BUT Wakey need a another tough forward / second row so who knows. But the rumour on the Wakey board is that the player they get, will be a disappointment to them so maybe it is neither of these two.

I so hope they are dissappointed.

It's going to be a very few interesting days ahead if DB signs for the Giants. I would hate to loose DK or AR.

If DB is going to sign for Giants I would be also be very amazed if he plays because if you look at football transfers players they are pulled from squad straight away.

It is announced on the Wakefield board that Danny Kirmond is going to Wakefield on loan for the rest of the season as part of the deal to bring Brough to the Giants.

If it is on loan i will be OK with that.

Danny is still injured and recovering from a serious injury than ruined his fantastic season just 8 days for the CC Final. First a fractured cheek then a knee operation.

Losing him on loan to Wakefield for a season is not a problem - it gives him time to get match fit and game time and gives the good men of Wakefield another utility, multi positional player. I don;t know why people are getting hung up about who's going to Wakey for DB (assuming he does come), we have to trust in NB, he knwos what we need and who he can let go.

What he'll be thinking about is how to improve the squad/team and sometimes you have to give a bit to gain a bit.

Let NB get on with it, he ain't done bad so far.
