| I just hope this doesn't turn into an embarrassment after all the promotion that has been done for it.
At the end of the day it's a load of has been foreign players in the twighlight of their careers against an England side filled with players living off their reputation (peacock, morley, sinfield) rather than their form along with some Bizarre selections (McCillorum (sp), Myler - both garbage).
In the past these type of games have really failed to capture the imagination e.g lancs V Yorks, GB V Rest of the world.
I wish them luck but great to have few players in it and so little doubling up. All the best to Salford at the Weekend

"has beens" with an average age of under 30? Still, negative attitudes without facts will probably help the international game to grow, right?

Maybe because it's an ENGLAND game, and Huddersfield is in ENGLAND? Idiot.

| Think the Exiles will win 40-18 personally. Hope its a good game, but think that the Exiles might walk away with it slightly. Will be interesting to see some of the contests. I know that they won't come head to head with each, but to see Hodgson and Tomkins in the same game, should be good.

| I'm going to be the odd one out here and go for a very competitive game and an eng-er-land victory.
Logic is the England players should be more motivated representing their nation than the exiles representing exilation. Also we should have more team cohesion as we have selected an experienced squad.
Btw feel for our unselected lads. Hope the exiles game is a injury riddled blood bath, and I would expect more injuries for tye players who double up on Sunday too.

| Pleased all 3 Giants players look to have come through that unscathed.
Thought Robbo did his chances no harm at all, one of the better players for England.

| This is part of what what i posted on the VT about the pack last night.
This 4 nations should be about preparing for the World Cup, this exiles match should have been about preparing for the world cup. Nothing else matters except for the World cup.
If you are not playing for a world cup place you should be retired from internationals.
Goodbye and thank you Mr Morley, thank you and goodbye Mr Peacock.
The only way you can tell if someone will be good enough for the big games is to play them in big games and see how they go.
Crabtree has done the buisness when given the opportunity so he should be in there along with Graham. Carvell is a workhorse but i feel he is not mobile enough to be a top class international.
The problem with all the other props mentioned is the lack of opportunities they have had in big games to prove themselves. The special ones are not just good props but those who have the extra quality to match the very best. At this level this is about concentration and a winning attitude it is the mindset of winning.
LMS, Mason, Griffin, Mossop, Watts, Patrick should all be given a chance to see if they can step up. All of these should be given a chance in the 4 nations. I would rather lose 3 games but be building a team that can challenge for the world cup
They should have been given a chance tonight.

| I thought the Exiles weren't really playing anywhere near top gear and looked at times to be just going through the motions......i agree with DG though, we should be blooding the younger/inexperienced lads now and giving them a chance rather than continuosly throwing in the same names and just shuffling their positions around when in the team.

| Entirely agree with Durham. Morley and Peacock are gone at this level. A bigger worry are Sinfield?, Myler - we had no half backs! No game management again! Wilkin and a few others are not upto it. And MacNamara, clueless!

| i think the worst thing that could have happened this week was the fact that wire lost and wigan and saints both drew.( i know we lost, but from what i have heard it is due to a poor performance/injuries rather than losing players to exile game). The top teams might not be as happy next year about another origin type game?and without the top teams support this game wont succeed

And here lies the problem. Football has the same issues. The national game should take precidence over club stuff every time. England needs a game of this intensity mid season. Our national game has many problems but having a game as good as the one on Friday helps to sharpen up the players for the end of season game and helps to work certain combinations out. The Aussie clubs have to do this 3 times during their season so iam sure our clubs can put up with doing it once at Easter (backing up a couple of days after a SL game), and another for this game.

To you yes. To me no.
if I have the choice between the Giants winning the Challenge Cup or the Grand Final and England winning the World Cup I go for the Giants 100% of the time. Club first for me.

Clubs should work around international fixtures without question i think. There is no reason why SL should suffer. NRL players have to do this 3 times during their season for the state games. They just get on with it. They might not like it but they get on with it.

Most NRL players I have spoken to see SOO as far more important than 4 nations / Anzac. the crowds in attendance suggest supporters think likewise.
International fixtures should work around clubs. a SL week off while Enlgand play the Exiles + England Knights play france would be preferable.

but dont forget 'win something' doesnt mean the millions of trophies we've won in the past it means ....in the last 5 years as that fits in with peoples arguments and thats usually when their own teams have actually 'won something' !!

Yeah it's odd that, especially as Leeds' 3 consecutive titles mean they've only won the same as we have.
Of course that's all in the past now so really no-one has actually won anything.

some nrl players see soo as more important than club footy, paul gallen was only saying yesterday live on fox that if sharks lose against bulldogs and virtually end their chances of the eight then he will step down from club footy from this weekend till soo3 to give the blues a better chance of victory as he is carrying a slight knock and thinks soo is more important than his own club
