i liked Tom, thought he had a lot of potential at one point...i think under the current coaching regime they would have managed to turn him into a cracking little player !

Another prospect from the same time - Bolu Fagborun. Last seen at Sheffield Eagles, but not on current playing list. What happened to him?

Often used to bump into him outside Total Fitness on his way in.

I think a few of our kids at that time suffered from poor development and coaching.

And when they did get into the first squad they were given a crappy deal. Bolu especially I remember watching him and it was obvious the guy was a fantastic athelete, and a natural loose forward. But when he got into the first team he was thrown in as a hooker and clearly wasnt used to playing in such a pivotal position and his passing and distribution werent up to it. Ball in hand though he was a dynamo...but never given chance to develop.

I also think its a case that in this squad currently young players have a wealth of talent to advise them, coach them and even to give them some protection in games. We simply didnt have that luxury back then.

phil joseph could of been a really good player given the right coaching.

Yup, it was Joseph I was thinking of.

He'd have been a class act if he'd been in this setup.

i think under this coaching set up a lot of our ex-players would have looked good.

not sure where Tikka is this these days TBH......was ok in the NFP for us but didnt ever think he was quite upto SL standard
