I can tell you his 3rd year option is only on the agreement of all parties. If Eden wants to return to Huddersfield and Huddersfield want Eden to return, he'll return on the same contract he was previously offered. No funds being exchanged and a straight recall

Mate you are wrong GE will only return to the Giants if HE wants to.

Which is what I've said BOYD2. Giants wouldn't force him to come back if he didn't want to. They wouldn't keep a player on the books who didn't want to play for the club.

I made the valid point that you all seem to have taken 1 part of the piece as true when they couldn't even get the length of contract right to start with.
You have also said we are skint which if true would mean we would be unable to PAY for players unless you live in you strange world

Only if Hudds pay the amount in the clause (Which was left out of the origional statements) which I would imagine is similar to the figure we paid you.
So for him to return to Hudds 2 things need to happen.
1 He needs to play out if his skin so that Hudds want to pay a fee for him back.
2 He needs to want to go back.

I would suggest number 1 would mean he is very happy and in great form which would generally negate number 2 I would imagine.

Depends whether you play well in a team doing bad or play well in a team doing well.

Look at Rangi Chase last season. Played well but wanted to leave for Hull.

Think its a good deal on Eden's part really, would you commit to more than 2 years living over in Hull? I certainly wouldn't

Should have done a Hock and sent him out on loan for a season.This return if you want clause is very strange to say the least.

I think the fee in the clause is the key part.
As has been proved with the likes of the Scott Taylor situation the last year of a deal isn't worth much if a player wants away.
My point I guess is that if he plays that well he will get enquires from other clubs such as Wigan, Warrington, Leeds etc with a year to go anyway and they would pay a fee just as you will.
But if in 2014 we tie him down to a longer term deal then the choice is made and clause becomes worthless.

I would be surprised if it was possible for another contract to gazzump or another club to come in without there being a penalty. Otherwise there would be nothing to stop you right now signing him on another 2 year deal for a couple of quid more without this clause in place.

Time will tell I guess. Hopefully he has a great season (except for a couple of games against a certain team in West Yorkshire).

Be interesting to see how the 'new Billy Slater' goes this year with HKR.
