You are right at the mo.....not many if any teams are intertested in a player or money or both transfer mid season.........but l am sure that when he is 'free' quite a few teams would look at him!

Saints have been interesting DB for over a year.
But when they say "we don't pay transfer fee's" they mean they don't pay transfer fees, not we get them to sign while they are still in contract and use it as a bargaining tool to get a player released from their contract.

Thing is players don't go to Saints for money, same as players don't go to Leeds for money, they go because they want to WIN trophies, thats why Shudds needed to get in before DB was OOC, because then when Saints come t'old suggar daddies millions will be worth sweet fa in terms of persuading Danny to move to the Goat-farm.

Oh dear even more SAD and BITTER comments coming from the Wakey fans. Have you tapped Cook up mid season ???? Where's the evidence we've tapped Brough up ???? Why are Wakey so keen to strike a deal with us and not reported us if we've supposedly "tapped" him up ???
At the end of the day whether Wakey supporters like it or not Brough doesn't want to stay there (thats the only "FACT" anyone on these boards knows for sure). Time to move on, if he comes here, he comes here, if he gets a better offer from elsewhere he'll go elsewhere, thats up to him. As for him wanting to win things perhaps he feels Hudds (2 recent appearances in cup finals and a 3rd place finish last year) are a better bet than Wakey for some silverware and maybe no other top clubs are interested in him.
I don't get all this bitterness, life goes on with or without Danny Brough.

Maybe they are keeping their powder dry, it could well be that Wakefield approached Hudds initially who knows it doesnt matter as a deal looks imminent, but for other clubs to start enquiring about him would lead to all sorts of allegations. Whereas at the end of the season it would be a straight offer of the moon on a stick to persuade him to go to their club with no complications of a player swap which atm it looks like that is what Wakey are after.

I think you are a bit wide of the mark with your comment about all wakey fans being bitter about Brough leaving. This is the Hudds board and it is your fans that are commenting on the merits of getting him or not, most Wakey fans are merely replying to the comments made on here. No, most of the Wakey fans seem to be making all sorts of allegations of player tapping (despite it being the Wakey club that approached Hudds) and making quite simply luicrous suggestions of the Wakey team plundering Huddersfields ranks and bank balance wholesale for a single player who to most fans isnt that much of an addition to our team...

At the end of the day no -one knows what has happened who approached who first, who let a rumour slip to someone in the hope it would make it's way to a player.

Everyone has some interest in this deal and everyone has some interest in coming out of it whiter than white.

There is not a player in SL who is coming up to OOC who does not ask his agent to make a few phone calls to see what some other team may offer him depending on certain circumstances.

All i would say is that the sooner it is done the better for Wakey, Brough and the Giants. Who said what and when is just all smoke and mirrors. Both clubs have staff who are well versed in both arts.


The only time you can be satisfied with any player is the ones who stay with their home town club whatever the temptations are elsewhere. they are the ones i would respect.

I suppose if Huddersfield want Brough it would make sense (assuming a deal can be agreed) to get him now rather than wait till the end of the season when he is out of contract and fair game for any club wanting a decent English half back (of which there aren't that many in SL).
However it depends whether a deal can be thrashed out that is agreeable to Wakefield and Huddersfield. If the brass is on the table then it's bound to be agreeable to Broughy.

If Huddersfield did tap him up ( only DB and Huddersfield will know the truth on that one) I'm sure they won't be the first and they won't be the last club to do that. To believe all is fair and equal is niaeve to say the least. That's not to say I like it or condone it, but I'm realisitc enough to understand it probably happens
Most clubs have lost what they consider to be a 'marquee' player over the years but they're still around.

So to Huddersfield and DB and Wakefield to some extent, either pee in the pot or get off. I'm not bothered one way or t'other.

gotta say the sooner the rumours are over the better. It always seems to Be Raleigh and Kirmonds name mentioned.

I would hate us to lose Raleigh he is Mr Huddersfield. I rate Kirmond so much that he would be a loss to the team BUT Wakey need a another tough forward / second row so who knows. But the rumour on the Wakey board is that the player they get, will be a disappointment to them so maybe it is neither of these two.

It's going to be a very few interesting days ahead if DB signs for the Giants. I would hate to loose DK or AR.

If DB is going to sign for Giants I would be also be very amazed if he plays because if you look at football transfers players they are pulled from squad straight away.
