Totally agree, lets see how the season pans out first, who we keep and who goes will depend on the squad and how it shapes up.

All these players are out of contract at the end of the season. Which ones would you sign up.


David Hodgson - Release
Scott Grix, - see how he goes this season but so far would probably give another 2 years
Lee Gilmour - Keep, another 12 months would do no harm here
David Faiumu - KEEP!!! another 3 years may be a good idea (not sure on age)
, Shaun Lunt - KEEP!!! if he is willing to stay slap a 5 year deal infront of him
Keith Mason - KEEP!!! again slap a long contract infront of him, 5 years??
Graeme Horne - Release
Jamahl Lolesi - Release
Josh Griffin - see his progress but looked good in pre season, so far is worth a new deal for me

the younger 1s at the end are our future and i feel we must keep hold of these guys.

reasons i give for my releases, plenty of cover for hodgson now, jamma may never play again and horne just hasnt got into it for me!! done ok in patches but i dont feel is good enough for the squad. maybe a bit harsh but i wouldnt offer him a new deal

Release - Horne , Lolesi - the rest still offer plenty to our squad and i wouldn't want to see this squad get split up yet as it still hasn't reached its true potential

l agree with Ponner a bit too early for this, having said that
Hodgson, Gilmour, are getting long in the tooth, with plenty of
backup, don,t think either will be in the line up come September
Lolaisi, doubt he will ever pull on a shirt again.

Scott Grix - Keep, best full back so far, needs to be kept.
Lee Gilmour - Not sure, good solid second rower, too old?
Keith Mason - Keep, if he's still good after the 12 weeks he'll be fine.
Graeme Horne - Out, not needed in the first place, he's taking up room in the Cap.

Graeme Horne taking up room on the cap?

I dare say in terms of bang for the buck Horne is right up there given the way we originally signed him.

In metres made per pound of salary, and tackles per salary pound, horne will be at the top of the list. Bet he is great value.

Would be interesting to see players salaries. Know it won't ever be available, but looking at key player stats by pound of salary would be fun.

Wonder how jerry and dodgy would compare....

without making this a thread about Horne, he was playing every game early in the season when we were winning consistently. Has never looked a week link to me. You need players like him in a squad who are versatile and more often than not reliable (and young). Definate keep for me.

I'd give Mason a long term deal.

Mason & Grix keep deffo, Jammer coaching job and as for the others, would depend who we could bring in.

McNally and Carlisle were talked up as possible future stars, for some reason McNally hasn't really took off like he should, not sure on longterm fitness of Keal.

He has his own cleaning business in Oz, which has taken off whilst he has been over here. He is seeing out his contract as it's a guaranteed income and therefore not costing his fledging business anything to pay him. He's got his head screwed on and has set himself up in a lucrative career after rugby league.

If you want proof, just ask the man himself. It worked for me.
