| I think that the discussion i was having not sure about anyone else was about prices for kids ( i do have a vested interest here and do not want Ken getting any ideas or thinking WE MIGHT BE HAPPY TO PAY MORE FOR KIDS )But we have had cheap kids prices long before this season which is the point i was making.
Wires prices for under 11s are higher than Bradford, Saints, Wigan Huddersfield and other teams.

Wigan's cheapest Junior ticket is £11
Bradford charge £10 for uncovered standing
Leeds charge £9
Wire charge £11 so are well within the pack, and charge the 'market rate' as I clumsily used before.
When it comes down to it, Warrington and Huddersfield are at different stages of their off-field development. Wire have been fortunate enough to play SL from the start, and have been involved in plenty of junior initiatives to ensure that we haven't needed to give free tickets to juniors as standard.
We have done well in this area, and the value is still excellent, especially when compared to things like Union and Soccer.

I have no interest teaching you basic economics or the recent history of your club. Ask someone who was awake during Deakin's time with the Wolves and you will discover the offers he made with ST that were certainly differnt models, as I stated.

As an astute business man Ken Davy took a "calculated" gamble against the general trend to get additional "up front" paying fans bums on Galpharm seats
It succeeded!
On Sunday he releases news on the next chapter of the book - another calculated nusiness plan to keep em there.
Will it workl ??
Definitely Yes in my opinion `cos at the moment hes going to announce it --we`re doing quite nicely
Thats the vital ingredient he needed - and he`s got it!!
In the present economic climate ( take hon mod for one - and he`s dedicated) Ken would have had a tougher decision making the next step if we had just been mid/lower table and out of the cup.( but I`ll put money on DG being on the terraces again next season whatever!!)
Fortunately for the club it appears that presently the "selling price" is the major hurdle to overcome --the product is a good one!

This is sound reasoning
My take onit for what its worth is that you cannot keep the prices so low you have good but expensive squad. This needs paying for and Davey will want to contribute as low as possible with the Giants doing well now is the time to break the news about increases but if you think/believe it will be only a low raise I think you could be in for a shock, I would expect them to be good value but a significant increase all the same.
See if it works.

| I expect our ST prices to increase but with our home form being poor, trying to convince the newbies to renew next year will be a test. Our away form is superb and with us in play-off contention and along with the CC semi-final this may get them to sign up for next year.
It was a great gesture by KD and has paid off so far, and with attendances at a all time high, even when playing the likes of Quins and Celtic we passed the 6K barrier which is fantastic.
I just hope that the fans repay KD by renewing for the 2010 season and watch a ever improving Giants side. The marketing team they have are doing a great job and I have every faith in them.
We have 2 confirmed signings for next year and a very exciting one to TBA soon. So come on Giants fans get renewing for next season!

| I hope he keeps the youth prices the same for season tickets holders, if there is any increase then maybe the adult prices.
But can you imagine the response if he kept the prices frozen across the board, the first time STH's would almost certainly renew and probably would in the future when prices increase, but we'll attract those dithers last time when they thought we were cr@p and now think actually we're not bad, and for c95 quid I'll finally give this a go.
I suspect a small increase in adult tickets (30 quid or so) though, which I think for most would be acceptable and would part with their hard earned, we should get 5K or so renew and the price is still a great deal for newbies, coupled with recent success we may beable to get another 1500-2000 to join in with the fun.

| ken took a gamble this season with the prices etc, he will have to raise the price to keep improving the squad , otherwise the new fans will stop coming . £150 would be a good price to watch a top 4 team next season

EDIT: just thinking back, and there was one year where ST holders received a free home shirt with their ticket. The quality was terrible and caused more bad feeling than good and the scheme was scrapped after one year. That may have been under Deakin.

| The press statement talks about the next phase, so I don't think this will simply be an announcement about a price increase.
All we have discussed here is price, but maybe there will be more initiatives in the season ticket to justify the price increase. Hull KR have just launched a membershp scheme with added benefits, maybe this kind of thing could be wrapped in to the ticket.
Like I said earlier, I would be surprised if he stood in the middle of the pitch to announce a major price increase, when he could do that by mail or online.

It has to be an increase because it refers to this seasons prices being a one off.

there is bound to be an increase the issue is by how much and what else is going to be linked in with it.
Ken wont be coming on the pitch to say season tickets are going up by £30 or £50 or £100.
there is something else planned will there be an announcement of a a new player, something to do with shares, a members club, anything that will soften the blow of an increase.
At the end of the day it does not really matter to me i will be there next season.
I am more concerned we put in a better performance against Wire than we did against catalans the last time Ken made a big announcement

A free shirt with a ST is a substantial pricing structure change for a club and a different ST model.
So your accusation of me making it up was groundless? You do not see fit to edit out your numbnuts suggestion that I backed out.

Yes that went through my head too
In terms of the converted I think it would have to be a atronomical prices increase to stop them renewing, the issue that KD would like to overcome and is serious about changing, is getting the people of Huddersfield to regularly turn out and purchase themselves a ST, support their local club.
A small increase in price would be palatable, a substantial one and we may lose the waverers, and maybe for good. If we are serious about having a large fanbase and building block for the future growth of the club, we must make going to the games a must and affordable means for families, and their friends. KD with his generous offer this season has really got the ball rolling, it needs a gentle push and before long it will be unstoppable, a gentle push KD please.
A big signing will help and encourage those who follow the game, but those who don't really know the difference between a Danny Brough and a Danny Sculthorpe it won't really whet the appetite and encourage them to come along and purchase a ticket for the ride.
Some on field success and we'll be the talk of the town not in a negative defeatist manner but in a positive and chest out full of pride manner. A good pricing structure maintained and a safe and friendly pre, post and during the game experience is needed and we'll have them hooked for life.

| Considering the number of discounted tickets available during the season and number of games on Sky I don't think the new ST holders would stomach a large increase. Also, in the present economic climate of rising bills and uncertainty in the employment market I would probably consider binning my Giants Express membership to cover a substantial increase in my ST.
If Marsdengiant is alluding to the Town deal of cheap STs in a certain area of the stadium then this may be another option for KD (although perhaps in the wings of the Antich & Direct Golf stands rather than add to extra matchday costs by opening up the Fantastic Media lower tier).
