Catalans were without star scrum half and playmaker Scott Dureau, second rower Louis Anderson, props Julian Bousquet and Olivier Elima, and powerful centres Vincent Duport , Darryl Millard and Steve Menzies. Their presence would likely have changed the result.

Nevertheless well done to Huddersfield. The team scraped in against a severely weakend French side and won the points fair and square. We look forward to a full strength matchup in the return game later this year.

No, I am not bitter. I am just sorry that it wasn't a full strength matchup with 13 men on the field for each side for the whole game.

We may even meet again not only at Huddersfield, but also in the playoffs. Dureau is worth at least 12 points a game difference against any team, so Catalans will start to climb the ladder when he returns in June.

Not significantly they won't, they are where they are for good reason. They are a good team, in the shake for 4,5,6 spot. A lot better at home than away, but that is understandable given the travel challenges.

Dureau is good no doubt, but the key to Catalans is that massive pack.

ref said late tackle but it wasnt. Maybe was a bit high on Escare but you see worse every week. Would like to see it again but it looked harsh IMHO

I could not see any reason why, as far as I saw, the Catalan player ran straight into Robbo and he could not get out of the way. Full on body to body contact.
If anyone can come up with a different view I would like to know.

Anderson's not very happy with something and I don't think it's the French Onion soup that's upset him.
