Jesus that was tough to watch. Credit to Wire, it was their day and everything they touched turned to gold. I'd like Lee Briers to buy me a lucky dip for tonight's lottery! On the other hand, we seemed to almost serve tries up to them on a silver platter in the second half. I hope this was a one-off and not symptomatic of the effects of Hodgson leaving and Brown stating he wants to go home.

Wire: excellent. Everything they did came off and they were keener. They ran faster, harder and wanted it more.

Us: Disgusting. Forwards woeful with only Aspers anywhere near getting any credit. Crabtree was anonymous and that's being kind. It took him 10mins to touch the ball after he came on and that is unacceptable. Cudjoe had a 'mare. Brett, well, I don't want to comment on that. What hurts the most is that they gave up.

Is this such a surprise though? I'm not sure. All that has been coming from the club for weeks now is uncertainty and bad news. The Brett saga has cost morale. Brown uncertainty is accentuating it.

Brown should either say he's going to stay or he should jack it now. For all the noises about it not affecting performance the display clearly screams a different answer. I didn't think I'd ever see us play so ineptly again after how far we have come in recent years. I was wrong.

It has taken years to get bigger crowds and us moving forwards. It can be undone in weeks. I'm afraid to say the club has made a huge balls up in recent weeks and needs to take action NOW to rectify it before all our progress is completely undone. The fans are fickle. The home numbers today were embarrassing and it was nigh on empty at the end.

Topping it all off for me were the Wire fans after the hooter asking Brett to give them a wave. That to me is an indicator of what a huge balls up the club have made. I am gutted. Absolutely gutted.

I agree that something needs to be done that represents an outwards show of strength. We need to address the slide. Regardless of how these changes are or are not affecting our dressing room, our future opponents are going to be enthused by these factors and that isn't going to make our lives any easier.

From what I can gather, Nathan Brown reckoned his kicking game was what was missing from the side to make them 'contenders'. That's one of the reasons I would be very disappointed if Brown were to leave at the end of the season. What's the point of the player being here if the coach who wanted him is back in sunny Sydney?

I make out that our newer fans aren't loyal enough yet to come to these games. And with performances like this one, I doubt much will be changing soon. Heck, some long term speccies can't even be a4sed to attend when it's on the box.
