| I take it not many of you 'Fartowners' actually ever went to Fartown then?
You've always brought a feeble following so what's new? Now you've got an excuse!
I hear some teams give tickets away to try boost their crowds.

| Unfortunately not. I have managed to get hold of one for my pal but that was through good luck rather than good judgement. If I get hold of another one I will let you know. I'll lose nothing for asking.

| Back to the Topic. Vice Presidents have a party of 35 going to the game on Sunday. We are having lunch in the Executive Suite and will then savour the victory. Excellent value at Headingley.
By the way it will be extra busy on Sunday as Yorkshire are also playing Durham in a County Championship game on the cricket field.

Oh dear I don't reckon much to your predictions
[i2009:
1. Leeds ( Slightly stronger than last year )
2. Saints ( Slightly weaker )
3. Wigan ( Biggest top 2 challengers )
4. Bradford ( Good pack )
5. Harlequins ( Much better than they are made out to be )
6. Warrington ( Nothing much will change )
7. Hull ( Less injuries I feel )
8. Catalan ( Still spring up some good wins )
9. Huddersfield ( Expectations too high )
10. Hull KR ( Perform with passion but lack of quality )
11. Castleford ( Much improved year )
12. Wakefield ( Going backwards )
13. Salford ( I think there defence will be good, just not sure where the points are )
14. Celtic ( Will put up a good showing )
Leeds v Wigan final I feel.
Warrington Challenge Cup winners[/i

It is £1.50 more than it is at Huddersfield (and don't give us any of that b*llocks about you getting a seat at Huddersfield, new stadiums are being built with standing terraces for a reason)

) do you reckon you'd all be getting in for less than £20?'"
children free at huddersfield, £16.50 to get a covered seat in modern stadium as opposed to standing on an open crumbling terrace, champions on the pitch maybe, dick turpins off it!

| Actually I would say we are comparing fresh, sun grown oranges (Galpharm) and rotten, cheap apple pressings left over after all the goodness has been sucked out of them (Headingly)

| I'd rather spend £20 watching a championship 1 or 2 side than pay £20 to watch a game a headingley.
At least with a championship side I know my money is being put to good use and not going to fund visa appeals, 30+ aussies imports and treating woodworm in wooden seats!

Well you've had plenty of practice so hardly surprising

So there are no 30+ year old Aussie imports in the Championship then?
Like your jealousy anyway. It shows passion. No mention of your £20 going towards the most succesful academy in the British game I see

| I have had regular practise.
I regularly go to matches in the Championship and even go to grassroots fixtures throughout the year. I’ll be off to watch a local fixture in Dewsbury on Saturday and shall be going to Hunslet on Sunday and paying £10 to watch them play York.
I know when I go to local amateur games any money I put into the club from beer money to purchasing a programme or raffle ticket will go directly back into the club coffers. Likewise when I go to a championship 1 or 2 fixtures.
I like the atmosphere at the grounds and the warm welcome you get from everyone associated with the clubs from the tea lady at Whitehaven to the groundsman at Featherstone
When I go to Headingley and buy a beer the money doesn’t go back into the rugby league club. I buy a programme and the money doesn’t go back into the rugby league club. I get a poor view and get insulted by the majority of people I walk past because I’m wearing an opponents shirt.
Yes a contributing factor is the price but the whole game day experience IMO at leeds is poor.
Is there anything bad against following local semi-pro teams that strive for every spectator they can get?
