| Agree with the above. Would also add..
Joe Wardle was going great before he got sparked. Walker was v good. Everyone will talk of Luke George's hat trick but his defence was exceptional today. He only got pushed out of play as he had to take a daft pass too.
Robbo brilliant.
All in all, solid team display.

I couldn't disagree more tbh, I'd like to see the statistics from the match as it felt like we had far more ball and territory than you did.
The difference between the two sides IMO was the fact that you were clinical and we weren't. We had ample opportunity to post points yet we made far too many errors; possibly down to the fact that our halves aren't experienced enough.
Fair play though you took your chances and the try from Gaskell's poor kick was a great try!
Seems Brough's conversion that hit every possible post got you the two points

| I thought it was a tightgame and could have gone either way.
Sts short kicking game was good but long was poor.
Giants made a number of errors giving Sts good field position but then their defence was outstanding.
I thought from where i was sitting that all three sts trys were dubious(two dropped balls and a ball over the line). I had two Giants trys borderline also.
Really pleasing that the Giants killed the game really well in the last five minutes.
Absolutely great team performance and great mental toughness.

| That was a game we would have lost just a couple of seasons ago, credit to the boys for sticking at it for the full 80 mins today, just how good was that last try?

| i thought Saints were the better team today .....i thought the amount of ball we gave away, especially near halway was going to hammer us but we showed tremendous spirit to bounce back and nick it............love games like that, no good for anyone's heart let alone mine !!

| I don't think saints were particularly the best side. Meither were at their best. Their forwards made more yards than ours but their outside backs -well did they have any cause they did nothing. They spilled the ball every other set -much down to big hard hits from our lads. Their try's came because they capitalised on our errors. They were better in the first half we were better in the second. In what way did you think they deserved the win Daz?

| i didnt say they deserved the win - we did for plugging away - i just thought they held the ball and controlled it better when they had it than we did, we dropped lots of ball and threw lots of silly needless passes, but we got the win despite this which shows the spirit we have these days.

| saints had more of the ball than we did. especially in the frist half we had to defend our line alot but once again our good defensive structure has won us another game. it was a scrappy game at times which i think the weather had some part with it being wet n cold but we managed to win another game where we didnt play i would say near our best against a saints side which defence had improved.
i also think the turning point was the injury to roby, he was driving them down the field at speed once lance came in they wasnt as fast and also lacked a spark which their young half back pairing struggled with.
but i would have ripped anyones hand off if they said first 5 games which include saints, wigan and warrington to have 4 wins and a narrow loss with the injuries we started with and they we have played in certain games specially london

| I thought overall we deserved the points, Saints had the better of the 1st half but we shaded the 2nd. I thought our defence near our line was immense and Saints ran out of ideas in the quest to break it. Not sure about Saints 2nd try but Bentham seemed to have no hesitation in giving it. I thought "Danny boy" was head and shoulders above anything the Saints had to offer and when he's in that sort of mood we can put teams on the back foot and we look to have plenty of points in us. I thought all 17 players performed well and if we'd have cut out some of the silly mistakes that lost us the ball and put us under a lot of pressure we could have won more comfortably. Nice to see Bruno back, thought he and Gerry had good games, particularly in defence. When we do cut out the silly mistakes and start firing on all cylinders we've got nothing to fear from anyone, Brough, Grix, Robbo, Browny, Lunt, Leroy, Gerry, Eden etc have the flair and ability to ensure that this could be our best and most exciting season ever in SL.

| It was a good performance. The rotation of players though was a bit strange. Lunt and Patrick cannot have played more than about 10-15 minutes all game even though Patrick looked a danger whenever he got the ball.
Walker as well only had two ten minute stints and Wardle went off injured after half an hour which meant the other 13 players all played big minutes. Not sure of the reasoning behind this but it certainly showed that our players are very fit and able to play for long minutes at a high intensity.

| I feel for Lunt. He sat out the first 45ish minutes, went on, and had to come off after 10 minutes with a bloody mouth/nose. Whilst in NB we trust, the use of Lunt does seem strange.

Agree with all the above. Fairbanks first interchange was very early and was gilly not larne. Thought larne looked good again yesterday and was really one of the few forwards who seemed to make metres yesterday.
A great result and whilst both teams will think they could have performed better again another 2 points collected in a tense arm wrestle of a game.
Two main positives for me are the performance of our young British kids and knowing that in previous seasons we would have just lost this game. Winning is a great habit to get into.

| i thought both sides were evenly matched, nothing to choose between us, both had a bit of luck at times, both comitted silly errors at times, ultimately broughy was the match winner again with his very very lucky conversion, drop goal and breakaway that led to our last try.

| I'll take the lucky conversion given he missed a sitter of a penalty earlier.
I think we were unlucky to be 8 points down at the break - Having watched the replay of the try last night on Sky I still say that ball was dead and it was no try.
Our goal line defence was excellent, especially on our left - they didnt have a chance
I was VERY puzzled by our first half defence though which seemed to consist of the markers watching Roby run past them, almost as if they were happy for him to pinch the 10m so long as the ball didnt go any further wide. It was noticable when Hohiah came on they started shifting it wider than when Roby was on.

| though saints dominated us in the first half...territory and possesion but still only went in 12-4 down at half time
2nd half differant story though, got off too a great start and brough started to take control
what a try that was...even though i thought it was a forward pass to george!! nice to get one go our way for a change
and the ball bouncing off the posts and bar
brilliant game!!! very close
seemed to be a change of tactics with crabtree doing smaller stints....and why was mason missing again???
thought lawrence had his best game in the back row for us
brough without doubt man of the match!
wardle was awesome untill he got injured(which was given by betham as a being played at??? then saints got tackles back to one and went on to score)...soliola was getting put on his backside by wardle a few times.
George is proving a real hit...bags of tries
Eden too many errors AGAIN...needs to stop for the top level, we got away with it yesterday just

| Eden will cut the mistakes out, he is just still a bit inexperienced, and to be fair his worst one was looking to pass the ball before he caught it.
I bet me makes fewer errors than Reilly ever did

| No sour grapes, but the grounding on St Helen's first try looks very dodgy / knock on when you watch it from behind the goal on SL TV camera angle, and the Lomax one looks well over the line.
Of course all Giants ones look perfect, and we seem to score something special when the Saints visit with THAT pass follow by THAT try now.

that lomax try should never have been given how they could not spot the ball grounded a yard over the line is beyond me

That was celebrated more fanatically at the back of the BR than any of the tries ....in fact i'm sure Greyman was seen chucking his flat cap in the air at some point
