To be fair daz we've never had the same strip more than a couple of years running since forever - back when I were a lad we had a new strip each year

now we await lots of purple merchandise rather than claret and gold, looking on the virtual terrace at some of catalans' stuff, it's levels above the kind of merhcandise we have!

We hada purple shirt a few seasons ago.

It weas incredibly popular.

Unlike most of the boring, middle aged , conservatively minded, male posters on here it will probably be very popular with Kids and Women.

So if it sells it will have done its job.

I have no problem with it.

The C & G one looks a bit different but it is the right colours and has a slighlty modern take on it with the colours merging .
I am happy with that one as well.

No doubt the club will read the bitching on here then order too few shirts then those bitching about the shirt will be able to bitch about the fact there are not enough shirts left that they were bitching about in the first place.

I think we need to look at the make up of the crowd! No one group polarises the others women, men, old, young, family's, mates. Trying to appease all groups of fans with two shirts would be difficult. Proof will be in the sales and what we see in the stadium! Has been mentioned how ghastly the grey paintball shirt was, yet I saw many fans wearing them!

For me the home one is certainly a grower and will certainly be getting one while the away is a tad generic. Saying that I think we have been spoilt the last few years the home shirt has got a lot better with last been the best in a long time retro with a twist and the away shirts have been outlandish alternatives that seem to have been great sellers.

Exactly brearly I have bought that shirt too as did many others but others Hated it! Like I said you have two shirts to try to create something that will sell to everyone and maximise sales! Can't please everyone

To be fair it's not as bad as I first thought the more I see of it. Still not the biggest fan though

forgive me for being cynical, but surely the idea of club merchandise is usually so people can wear items in the street and/or at games.
i know these are just 2 items, along with a christmas jumper and a christmas mug, but where is the stuff everyday people can wear in everyday situations?

I'll be getting both of those! Onesie for other half for Crimbo and my lad needs skins for next season.

just looking at the new kit threads elsewhere and when you see how they have been marketed and well presented.. then ours, just cudjoe and mcgillvary at the ground..anyone could have taken that pic...very very poor... whether its the club or the manufacturer, you would think it would be both as more they sell the better.

proof will be in the interest and sales i suppose.... the initial response from the majority of fans to our first look at the shirts was a thumbs down though... i feel they could have done better with the first promo, personally think st helens have done the best one

its not just the shirts promo though, think we all know how poor the Giants are at marketing things..but we do have to operate at different levels to other clubs in this area so i suppose we have to make do with what we have

or get some body else in to do the job with new ideas

Jools that's just one more reason to dislike leeds! The envious bugger I am!
Suppose when you read what material we have been given about the contract we signed with kooga and there opinions and the Giants the thing that hit me was the fact they both said sales last year was the best it had been! So perhaps with the back page of the pape, the forums and the emails of the kit it is enough to create sales.
Also being with kooga for three years perhaps issues with styling and materials and design of the shirt could be resolved! You won't make every fan happy but perhaps kooga would take on board ideas or opinion is it was channeled from us through the club! It is a competitive market out their for kooga so they will want to keep the club happy surely and the club wants to make sales so listening to the fans and what they thing is vital.
