I can't see Lunt going anywhere as he has re-established himself as the first choice hooker in a team which is now starting to challenge for honours; I wouldn't be surprised to see him sign an improved deal in the off-season.

Agreed, Wardle isn't just developing into a fantastic centre, he's a natural centre; not a winger or second rower that has been moved.

The combination of Wardle, Ferres and Brough down the left flank has been great to watch this season. Broughton would be an excellent addition to that side as he has pace to burn, backs himself and is evasive returning the ball; I just wouldn’t want to see Murphy lose his position as he has been one of the most consistent performers this season.

That said, in Paul Anderson we trust and nothing has been confirmed by the club yet.

You are right, but when we signed Ferres, Murphy, Wardle and Chan I thought exactly the same. When watching games etc. most of us generally understand what the coaches are doing thinking etc. the better coaches sometimes surprise us. Paul Anderson is one of those coaches, so I will trust his judgement.

Indeed. And we missed Grix last night IMO. Connor did very well, don't get me wrong, but it was his second start at that level and he was clearly nervous at first. He wasn't as involved as Grix would be and thus Brough & Robbo had more to do and we had slightly fewer options.

It was a cracking try from Connor though and great strength.

I think it was more of a case that PA wanted to make as little changes as possible. And also would have been a big ask pitting blackmore up against the dog botherer!

Essentially we have lost Dawson but Blackmore looked to have gained favour over him, from the game I saw Blackmore looked good a couple of mistakes but other than that a good prospect!
Lost George who has been replaced by broughton! So now we have broughton, Murphy, Blackmore, jerry... Last year we had George, Murphy, Blackmore, Dawson and jerry! So less of a headache this year?? Anderson picks on form and has proved to be rite on the majority of his team selections, so I say let the lads battle it out! In Anderson we trust!

Good luck to Jodie, you've bagged a not only a very professional athlete, you've signed a real ambassador, who's always got time for everyone and never has a bad word. He'll be missed at Salford, but he goes with everyone's best wishes I'm sure. He'll bag a load of tries for you and will always get a good reception when he comes back and plays against us.

still lives in leeds so travelling to salford everyday was a chore. Salford did try to keep him but wanted a new adventure.

says hes an out and out left winger so expect him to pair up with wardle.

wants to be pushing for England team and playing in the big games now.

Is he full time ? Because he was part time at Salford fitting in with his job as a trainee surveyor or something along those lines.

He's always been full time, rugby players have that much spare time that he took on a full time job as well. so he has something to fall back on when the time comes

I'm a massive fan of your back line but have not been overly impressed with Murphy when I have seen him. Steady, but not bordering international selection. A straight swap. I like Grix but recognise he is also not quite top drawer, whether Murphy is destined for that position I haven't a clue.

Murphy's strength is in his game reading. He doesn't need to be the quickest man on the field. His tackle selection and skill means he can snuff out an overlap and his ability to foresee the play means he finds himself in open space or at the end of a clever kick.

Plus he's good cover for Fullback, although Connor may have that bag now.
