Two of my kids did not go today so only 50% of season tickets used.

Mother-in-law is season ticket holder and she did not attend.

My best friend didnt go today so thats only 4 out 5 for us. 3 people who sit on my row where not there today and 3 people who sit behind us where missing today and there season tickets holders as well.

We did and got 6300 plus. Take off Quins bus and we have a sound home crowd.

Why is the away support of Huddersfield weak?

I remember not that long ago, although it seems it now. SL had just been formed and Widnes and Huddersfield were in Division 1. We played each other at the old Naughton Park, so that makes it about 96 and its probably the only time I've thought our fans might be outnumbered. There was a massive Huddersfield support.

Surely your a more popular club now?

We used to get so much grief when we travelled away I can't describe it. Finishing bottom x years and the merger meant we copped flak like you wouldn't believe.

It killed our support, away from home especially. We still cop grief now.

Remember Keighley away when Schoey played on one leg? The game that took us to OT when we beat Hull 18 zip? We took so many that day.

I remember those days there was some good times. Don't think I will ever forget the Hull game.

But i seem to remember the bad usually outnumbered the good. Often a lot of our good times were when we were not at the top table. i feel much happier with the good times now.

Oh yeah I can remember the years we finished bottom of the table and one year where we won something like 2 games and that was it.

that was 1998 1st season in super league - they were the good days compared to what some of us remember !!

I remember going into OT that game, so many cocky Hull fans on the way in, so bitter on the way out

also remember our injured player schofield lifting the cup up to the admiring hull fans on the lap of honour lol

The main reason that I personally do not go to as many away games now as I did in pre Super League days is because we always played on Sunday afternoon. I always took a coach to the like sof Widnes, Warrington etc on a Sunday afternoon. We had a breakfast on the way at Oldham (ask Amy Victoria what she thought of the burned Beefburgers she ate). I ran trips to Swinton, Hull, Salford & Wigan where we had a meal before or after the game. When you work until 5.30pm in Bradford - to get back home, get to Town to get on the coach and then get to the game for a pre match meal on a Friday is impossible.

That is a group of around 50 Vice Presidents who don't get there now due to Friday games.

i am with stuart on this one. friday evening KOs are a nightmare.

I can understand that for some teams they are good for HOME fans and for younger supporters who just link the game in with their weekend drinking they are quite attractive.

BUT they are not conducive to those with families, people who are working, who travel from out of the area or those who have reached a stage in their life where they like to do things at a slightly more leisurely pace.

saying that having the evening KOs does give me time at the wekend with the kids which keeps my wife happy but also means that i cannot take them with me to games.

...or for people who run Scout Troops!! However, I've managed to get a stand-in, so we'll be there.

Try Friday nights away as a Quins supporter

. I think we made a few of the Antich laugh on Sunday. They announced the crowd as 6,000 whatever and 56 and we immediately started the chant "We are the 56"

I agree 100% with the posts about Friday night matches. I'd like to see the RFL do something about this. Friday should be for TV games only and other games should always be Saturday or Sunday afternoons. I hope the Giants don't ever go to Fridays for the very reason that the away support would be affected.
