Taai would like a new contract? So why didn't he accept the one on offer then??????

We need to be signing players like Ukuma Ta'ai up...class players are hard to come by, pointless letting someone else benefit from his signing if we are being stingy/petulant or just stupid !! not saying we are but it seems strange that we aren't pulling out all the stops to keep him !

Ta'ai has been offered a new contract which was refused.The club are keeping the door open for him,it's entirely up to him.

IF we haven't offered Ta'ai a new contract, it's about time the club were more open and explain at the end of the season why but, personally, I'd be gobsmacked if we haven't. I thought there was a rumour he was off to Union?

He's been offered a contract- perhaps he feels it's not enough. As I said before- we can't offer what is asked if we can't fit under the cap- and before anyone uses the "m" word- taai's a handy player- but I'd be pretty miffed if we offered him over the 170k required for that!!!!

Since the RFL keep changing the rules on internationals/home grown/marquee it's inevitable that there will need to be some changes and some of that may well be belt tightening.
We have saved money on grix and robbo- and I suspect eorl too.

Would that be the CO who balances the Salary Cap and the money put in by our owner? We are not self sufficient as a club, we have a finite investment from Ken Davy, if a player demands more than we are prepared to pay and we cannot reduce someone else's salary something has to give. We need a squad of players not a smaller team of highly paid individuals.
