if he WANTS to go then let him go, hopefully for a fee as he is still in contract, don't want any player who is not comitted to us to hang around.like others have said,top player on his day ,but these have been few and far between mainly due to injury.

Looks like the consensus is we aren't really that bothered. Good position to be in and shows how much strength in depth we have.

Not sure, any disruption would not be good at this stage and strength is depth is ok when everyone is fit but a look around the league shows a number of clubs have key players out already and later in the season that could be us. We will have to cope however it pans out but better it blows over and we move on rather than lose someone this early in the season.

These sorts of things aren't known for blowing over at our club- I'd rather lose someone now than later- cause we all know how later panned out!

Interesting piece on p.5 of today's RLE about LOD, off-shore wage accounts and changes to rules allowing him to access the account.

It reads to me like he wants to go back to Aus but is being professional about it.

Indeed, the fact the we weren't interested in players coming the other way is interesting too. No part ex or anything, what will be significant and perhaps makes me wonder about next season is if we don't get anyone else in. A big signing next summer may be in the offing if we don't? in the half back department, who knows.

I think Anderson will see how we get on anyway, plenty of cover and as pointed out hes not played many games unfortunately. It would be sad to see him go but going by pasts seasons the chances of him putting in over a dozen games for us is slim to non and slim might just be about to leave town.

Would be dissappointed to see him go. When fit and playing he brings more to the team with his leadership and aggression. Bet many opponents don't like facing him and he is a proven winner , which is a quality we could hopefully do with this year.

i agree his reputation means he seems to get pulled up on every little thing! but i suppose he had to expect it

Got to be honest I'd be gutted to see him go before seeing what he truly can do in a Giants shirt, I've seen glimpses of an unbelievable Oz Test/SOO star in our colours, would be brilliant to see him string a few games together and help take us to the next level. I dont mind if he leaves, understandable with the increased cap over there, but as Brearley says, i just hope its at the end of the year and he leaves us in a better position than when he came.

LE reckons it's something to do with an offshore account - "League Express understands that a significant proportion of his salary is paid into an offshore account in order to lessen his exposure to British taxation. But new regulations mean that he will be unable to access the funds in the account until the age of 55. That has persuaded him to try to cut short his contract to return to Australia" - make of that what you will. Agree with others above that an early resolution to this is essential - in best interest of LOD and club not to see this become an ongoing saga.

Personally will be sad to see LOD go as we have not really seen the best of him over an extended run of games - but if he does go I will wish him well and be grateful for the time he has been with the Giants.

If he does go will be interesting to see if a replacement is soiught immediately or whether PA will choose to bide his time for the right player to become available.

He'll be missed no doubt,solid tackler,and keeps the legs driving at collision time.Very hard to bring to ground bit like Jamie Peacock.Played a vital role on Saturday.

Luke O Donnell did not want to return to England during the pre season

Some may say O Donnell did not look like a player wanting to leave on Saturday, however.....

From what i have been told by a friend of mine in Sydney they have told him if they are to make a offer for him they want to see him play 2/3 games and show he is fit after the surgery

I don't expect him to be a Giants player by the end of this month

Some would say he should be dropped straight away if he wants out, however i disagree - hell be wanting to prove he is fit so will be putting in some good performances in and this then gives Anderson chance to look for a replacement and gives Ukuma Ta'ai chance to settle in
