kirmond is not good enough defencivly and imo it is totally the right decision to let him go. Prior to his injury he was good in attack and regularly bust tackles. Since his return he looks lightweight and rarely looks like making a break.
If you want to improve the squad you need to move on your weakest players.

Chan is much better. Lawrence is also a better second row now and will only get better.
If the other signing rumours are true Tonks is a big nasty prop (maybe a bit of work needed to get him up to standard) in an area we defiantly need to strengthen.
Lee would be cover for the halves and this is an area that needs to be strengthened to cover injuries.
Murphy is a quality back who can cover centre, fullback and wing.
I would say the signings give the squad much more depth. Salary cap constraints will prevent us chasing big name siginings.
The new signings address positions in which there is little cover. Second row there are plenty of options and it makes sense to offload a couple of players from this position to strengthen elsewehre.

Chan I believe will prove himself to be a big hit. He will break the line and offload.

They will be exploiting some kind of loophole IMO. It will be legal, I hasten to add, but when you have the RFL drawing up the rules it's hardly surprising they're as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

There are several such loopholes and they'll be exactly the same ones that Uncle Ken is exploiting.

Eaxctly when we had a half injure this year we ended up swapping about five players positions to cover one change as Nathan Brown did not think we had any younsters up to the job of playing half back. At least in Tommy Lee (if he does sign) we have an experienced super league player toplay in the halves.

Wire's income will exceed ours by quite a bit and I dare say will be able to spend to the cap limit without any financial input from Moran. That is not the case with us and at meetings in the past KD has stated we would need to average >10k to be able to spend to the cap without his input. He also has stated his ongoing investment is equal to him selling a handsome property every year. Look at our squad in comparison to Wires with your eyes open and then tell me we spend the same on players. KD may well put in as much as Moran, although I have my doubts, but their income will comfortably exceed ours at the moment. Figure out the rest for yourself.

Robinson had a poor game by his standards tonight but his defence is very solid generally.

Brough had got his defence sorted earlier in the season, since his injury he has made some howlers in defence.

And yeah, Robbo is usually massive in defence, bringing down players far larger.

That said, how good was Crabtree to catch and bring down Webb? Superb
