| FC Fan here, felt for you guts tonight. and think should you meet them again a truer reflection on Hudds ability will be shown (trusting the Ganson show is not on the road)I watched Wests v Warriors this morning the intensity was immense for 80 minutes. But this tough game was still allowed to flow, with penalties been awarded as infringements rose above that high level of intensity.
Tonights game was indeed a real physical competition for the first 10 minutes( albeit not at the intensity of the down under play off game) However Mt Ganson had the ability to effect the whole game with his continuous need to " stamp his authority" what this did was reduce the fierceness of the competition and for me as neutral it just ruined the whole spectacle. Yes , maybe Wire would have won over the course of 80 minutes ?? but for sure whichever side was most penalised (and it was the clarets ) were clearlt effected by this and there was a definite momentum shift to Wire. Add this to the Clarets penalty concern this gave a physical edge to Warrington. You have another go yet and should you have another go at Wire I think you will give them a real game. But you have to get over the damage first. Mr G has a lot to answer for.........he 's spoilt my nights viewing.

| I'm in a car coming home posting by iphone. Ganson did us no favours but we did not play well either. The early season dynamics have long gone we look a dejected and tired side. We all knew the first 20 mins were vital and as stated on another post Ganson totally reffed it different for us tonight, however he didn't drop the ball throw wayward passes miss tackles the players did that.
I will be there for the final match of the season on Friday as I was tonight.... but without leroy, LOD. sean lunt and wardle we will struggle. I have not seen anything in the last few weeks that says Nathan Brown can raise the bar and send the team out 'spitting blood' again. Sadly we are 'gone' we're looking like the OUTCLASSED boxer hanging on to get to round 12 and lose heavily on points !!!!
I hope i'm wrong but our form in recent weeks is by far the worst of any team in the top 8 and tonight we were given a lesson and in reality ganson just made the obvious difference in class and technique look wider on the scoreboard.

100% True, and the blame lies with Nathan Brown.
Bradford 30-0?
Warrington 60-4?
Mid Season Dips every season?
It all has to be for some reason.

| Bad loss,Wire get the field position,(how) then the decoy runners go through,Briers & Hodgson working both sides, and an inspired choice putting Bridge @ 13.Going soft, normally wait at least 5 days before complementing the opposition.
But we can regroup and we are good on our own patch, nowt to fear.

will have to start playing all games including challenge cup final at the Galpharm.
Would rather go back to having the same team that went to MM and battered Wire and who went to Leeds and battered Leeds, not the shambles that happened tonight.
Nothing to fear? We have everything to fear!!!!!!

| No reason why we can't win the prelim semi on our own patch,no reason at all.You mention MM,that was our props dominating, that is what is wrong now.
Cudjoe's a big loss though, our only class centre.
Then go to the QSF and anything could happen, just one big performance
Must admit I'm typing this and at the same time thinking to myself you're puddled shut tf up,but who knows,we aren't out of it yet.

| ganson absolutely spanked us tonight but so did wire!
as frustrating as gansons constant whistle blowing was,it wasn't half as frustrating seeing our lads capitulate and roll over again.defence was woeful and we are totally cluless in attack. we are shot and theere is no fire in their bellies anymore, game over im afraid

| Yes the ref was poor, but in all seriousness you can drop any ref into that game tonight and the score would be the same,Wire were dominant in all areas and Hudds could of played till midnight and not scored. The ref isnt the issue here,it lies with the team and the coach and they need to look at fixing it.

NO SHIT SHERLOCK!
Before everyone starts saying 'knee jerk reaction' I am really beginning to think that Nathan Brown has possibly taken us as far as he can with the players at his disposal. I am just wondering what excuse will come out this week. That performance was unacceptable and an insult to our finishing position on the ladder, no other team that finished 4th would have lost by that margin tonight.
No sour grapes at all Wire were decent but we made them look like world beaters. It was like the bad old days last night in the early days of Super League when that scoreline was a weekly event for the Claret and Gold. The players need to have a long hard look at themselves - we look a spent force this season.
Danny Brough for example looks a shadow of the player he did before his injury - just an observation.
Just not good enough at the end of the day but expect some sort of response next week.
I am not going to give Ganson much space on here but he is a complete HOYSER always has been. Not blaming him at all but when will the RFL realise that the game is about the two teams and not him. Consistently inconsistent. A BAD NIGHT ALL ROUND.

| We were outplayed by a very good Warrington team......after Ganson had basically handed them all the posession for the opening 25 mins to build up a scoreline. there was no way we were gonna come back from that and any chance for a decent evenly matched game was taken away by that whistle of his .

| no point blaming ganson, nilled again...poor
but ive been saying for months on here how poor we are, fully expected a defeat last night like that.
grix had his worst game for us lastnight, topped his poor show at salford. (yes good under the high ball, backing up, fans player of the year etc and i like the lad) but a brett hodgson, tompkins, greenshields he aint...
where has watson the conditioner dissapeared too???? something has gone on, not even on the pitch doing the warm up, now left to lolesi
next season we need to employ two new backroom staff, watson and lolesi out.
and get rid of the squad players... 6/7 can go and bring in 2 quality players with the spare room in the salary cap

| Ganson was whistle happy in the first 20 mins which didn't help the Giants cause but the simple fact is that Nathan Brown got his tactics wrong. You didn't need to be a genius to know that Warrington would come out all guns blazing, & yet NB left one of his best defenders on the bench at the start of the game?
Giants defence was woeful. The one on one tackling was dire. You were four tries down before one of your best defenders (Raleigh) came on to the pitch?? With that type of tactic it's amazing that you made 4th in the league this year.
Once again NB's "favourites" and Giants so called "star players" under performed in a big game. His team, his players, his tactics. his (un)motivational half time team talk. Ganson is not your problem.

| NB putting Faiumu to 9 and Larne Patrick to 13 was an attempt to fight fire with fire.Ganson's officious reffing stopped our momentum,we had to back off from the arm wrestle we would have liked.
Then the problem is some of our dynamic ball carriers are not the best defenders, and our best defenders are not as dynamic.
Not taking owt away from Warrington, they are a class side and probably would still have won with different ref interpretations.
We finished 4th because we played some tough football early in the campaign, some sides have upped their intensity towards the business end of the season while ours has unfortunately dropped away from what it was.

| I'd agree with a lot of your comments Sheepbridge but I'd also quote that well known phrase...............DEFENCE WINS GAMES.
As for dynamism/defence skills of your players, these are the players that NB signed, so the buck should stop with him. What would worry me even more as a Giants fan, would be the seeming lack of response from the players to his half time team talk??

| I've said it before and I'll say it again. We are not playing with the same amount of energy as last season or as at the beginning of the season. That can easily be seen - our linespeed has gone our forwards are not hitting it as hard, the players look lethargic. All last year we heard from the players how great they felt - not a dickie bird this year -They are being overtrained by this new conditioner. get rid.

Though I dread to think what will happen if Ganson gets a Wigan v Huddersfield game at some point in the play-offs. We could see sixty penalties.'"
This.
Mr Ganson made a clear statement in the opening 15 that he wanted a quick ptb; your lads *were* holding down and I'd guess that was Brown's game-plan, given that Wire annihilated the comp's other Wrestlemania exponents last week by winning quick ptb's.
As a neutral observer, I've thoroughly enjoyed watching Wire destroy the two teams who introduced and mastered that slowing, spoiling style of rugby a couple of seasons ago; it's my sincere hope that other teams follow their example and that as a result, those coaches who insist on pushing the envelope are forced into a rethink.
As I said on a thread on our own forum yesterday, if every team aspired to play the game like Wire are playing it right now, the whole SL would be a massively improved spectacle.

| Why wasn't he stopping Warrington from doing it?
Their second try came from a direct infringement at the ruck that he'd have penalised Huddersfield for but instead gave a scrum to Wire.
He simply did not apply the interpretation evenly.

Spot on.
As McRae said on the night,if he's going to go with 0.5 second ruck clearance he's got to do it for 80 minutes and for both sides,he didn't.There was an occasion in the first half when Jerry was clearing our lines he had to virtually shove Morley off him to play the ball.Ganson did nowt about that.He had it in his head that we were coming to slow Warrington down from the start and never gave us a chance. Why was Lawrence done for 'wrestling' in the very first set of theirs. To wrestle you have to get your arms locked on,he never got the opportunity.
You only had to watch the difference in interpretation of speed of ruck clearance between Ganson on Friday and Childs in Perpignan Saturday. Why should there be any difference? same game (RL) isn't it.
