after the two points the best thing to come out of the game was the fact i have lunt, hodgeson,mcguire,hall and patrick in my fantasy team

trav actually came up with a cracking point last night,
will it be mentioned in the media and on sky how with a depleted team and players out of position and also a man down for parts of it,we lost to the 3 times champions by a single point in the final seconds?
i remember the sky lot lavishing praise on 'brave leeds' when they lost at wigan with a few injuries so will they redress the balance and praise 'brave huddersfield'?
i somehow doubt that as only leeds have injuries dont they?

and the best thing for me was seeing the cocky and arrogant leeds fans who keep telling us our team simply cannot compete with leeds and how we are a nothing team compared to them,celebrate to a man/woman/child beating a team they should be putting to the slaughter like they just won the cup,grand final and WCC all in one go,if you really are that superior to us you would have politely applauded and skulked off home disappointed with scraping a one point win against far inferior opposition

i think it was the fact a couple from here came on our board early in the season slagging leeds off and saying you were now the team to beat.
we all have dicks on our board,not all of us can be knowledgable,considerate and handsome

We deff gave it away. Who turned over the last ball for the one pointer??? I dont think Horne had a good game, Grix mediocre at FB with some crazy passes.

Why? We had 3 dg attempts they had non? from patrick scoring they never got a sniff. if the game lasted 70 odd mins they would have the 2 points. The way we ended the game shows why we out played them over the 80. thaler and his band gave em 4 that should never have been. no doubt in my mind the best team won. They were cluless at the end. They couldnt hack the pressure resulting in 2 or 3 unforced errors. if I were a hudds fan I would be very concerned about the players pedigree after last night. They will limp out of the play offs again. That's just my opinion.

you couldn't hack the pressure! you didn't give it away Leeds took the game by the balls and won it! Your players lost their composure and the game. That's why the best team won. Hard to take but true.

We lost the game because we didn't show Leeds enough respect. They are not the champions for nothing. We had two kick-able penalties and elected to run them in as though we we're playing lesser opposition and gained nothing, one in each half. In the first half it was 6-4. That kick would have leveled it for half time.
Late on when in the game and trailing 20-18 Leeds showed us respect and opted to take the two on offer instead of thinking it's only the Giants, we'll run a try in. The drop goal would have been irrelevant had we taken the points on offer.

Disappointed to lose but we are getting there. Beats losing by 80 like in the old days eh?

Strange that you say that Wilko because every report about the game says the Giants were the better team even your own coach said it,oh and big bad Baz said on sky the Giants were the better team,but there you go who are they to question you

To be honest with the team you had playing I thought you competed really well and were unlucky not to take the two points. As far as the number of fans attending I was responding to an earlier poster who claimed you brought alot.

For excitement it was a good game. But I felt as far as we played for the majority of the game we were poor on attack, defence and tackling. Your lot were not that much better either. IMO

And If we perform like we did last night we will limp out of the playoffs as well!

The reason Leeds won last night is cos like all champions in whatever sport they play they played right to the last second and handled the pressure better,yes we need to improve a lot if we are to win the SL again this year but I really do believe this is cos the SL standard as gone up a bar this year which is better on a whole...but what I will not accept is when sum fans say we are Lucky in winning in the last minute when really it's down 2 the quote above in we play right 2 the last second and that is why we are the CHAMPIONS....

Thats my opinion. Sorry if I wasn't convinced by hudds shambolic finish to the game. it seemed like the gaints ar$e fell out to me. You couldn't get out of your own half. No direction, no go forward, unforced errors. if you were the better team how come you couldnt give yourselves a chance to win it?

The notable point reading this thread is how many Giants fans switch from being "the next big thing" (missed out to the Wolves there) to being smalltime nobodys (missed out to Cas there) whenever it suits.

I happen to think you've done great things over the past few seasons, but it appears by the extremely small crowds dotted around the Galpharm and your non-existant away following that the Huddersfield public do not share my view.

It's not the first time Leeds have "snatched" a game in the dying stages of a match and it won't be the last. It's true what Bluey says about the opposition (including Wigan in the CC) that they panic and fall to pieces if they go into the final Quarter of the game slightly in front of the Rhinos. They all expect an almighty onslaught and thy get it. Ok, so Giants were the better team over 70 mins - BIG DEAL. We got the 2 points, thats the only thing both teams turned up at Headingley for.

Just watched the tries on the super league show, if Leeds didn't pass the ball forward they couldn't score any tries! All 3 had forward passes that were glaringly obvious!

Good luck to Leeds when refs clamp down on that rule like the play the ball rule!

It is virtually impossible to be certain of a forward pass on tv hence the reason why it is never used .
Not sure how you can come to the conclusion of dissalowing our tries when 2 of yours were a disgrace.
Now had this game been on SKY you would have had the Hodgson try ruled out and the knock on before it.
Get over it we have all the refs and Red Hall in our pockets that`s why we are champions didn`t you know numpty.

2 of ours a disgrace? Ok, hodgson's might have been dubious at the time but on TV it looked fine!
