| No probs.
FWIW you did play well last week but I think you can and will play better. I think that Hull FC will make the play offs comfortably.
As for us, 6th upwards and I'll be very pleased. I just hope we're in good nick at play off time, assuming we get to the play offs. Some good luck in the CC and finally winning it would be nice too! One day...

| Hull should win tonight. For me it is about overall performance. If the Giants compete well then it bodes well for 2010. Hull have a very good starting 17 and some squad depth and a decent assistant coach. They are a top 6 side. The Giants are up to 5 players down on the likely first 17 (Fatz/Drew/Mason/Kirmond/Wild).
At one time being 5 down against the Hull 17 tonight would have meant a certain thrashing.
If the Giants were to win / get within 6 points then a top 2 finish would be achievable.

| Quote ="Wadski"Here's a point I find interesting:
Bookies make Hull favourites tonight because they beat Saints yet when you look at the result Saints lost Gardner and Soliola during the game so had 15 fit players. We beat Bradford with losing Mason after 5 minutes and with [size=150[uGanson playing to the camera[/u[/size.
I hope the confidence in their pack coming from Hull is not unfounded.'"
Your arguement was going well until that point. The ref from my experience over many many years of watching the game is as good or bad for both teams on the pitch.
I would suggest that the bookies make FC favs due to having 12000 fans cheering them on in their own back yard. We have arguably the two biggest packs in the league up against each other, though the Giants have a couple of injuries where as we have a full strength pack to choose from.
In the backs its the master v Robinson at sh. A Hull back line with a great mix of experience and youth with cracking pace. Your back line is much the same. I would not trade our backs for yours and I am certain you would say the same about your backline.
Tonight has the potential for being a cracker. I hope you all travel in big numbers to see what could be one of the games of the season.
Don't look to the FC class of 09 for pointers on this. The squad has a complete new look and the attitude within the club is much more professional. Thats why we as FC fans are far more optimistic. Only the naive think we will win the SL this year, but top 4 is there for the taking. In the same way it was for Giants and HKR last year.
I hope you enjoy your experience at the KC tonight and may the best team win, providing they are in B&W

I too have watched the game for years and watched Fartown when we nearly folded, back then the reffing standard was about the same as it is now, the likes of Steve Cross were no better or worse than Steve Ganson, only problem is they are now full time proffesionals!!!!!
Sorry but ya need to get Sky+ and watch the match again. Robbo was sent off for the same thing L'Estrange did from 1st whistle to last, the Giants were warned about it the Dulls were not, make up your own conclusion from this.
We have the same problem week in week out with the likes of Ganson and you too should know how this feels not being classed as one of the so called big teams.
We are not asking for decisions to go unfairly in our favour just a fair crack of the whip (Wembley last year and Lunt's dissallowed try!!)
This season it will all change IMO and teams like Hull and Huddersfield will start being recognised as equals to teams like Whino's and Stains and finally get a level playing field (long ovedue), which can only be a positive move and good for the fans.
As for tonights game I hope it lives up to being a real cracker and the best team on the night wins fairly and squarely, whatever colours they are sporting.

Right couldn't make the game but we had 3 tries dissallowed from what I heard? Did the best team win? was the ref upto standard and fair for both teams? If so well done Hull

two tries not given, one disallowed, all correct calls, hull fc forwards battered you for the first 40 minutes, second half, first 20 giants on top, then hull dominated last quarter
as for the ref, terrible for both teams, less said the better
best team on the night won

If it were a boxing match Hull would have shaded it on points. great defensive display 2nd half from your lot including 4 consecutive sets in your 20. Hull looked like they would rip you to pieces early on then stopped doing everything they had and got into a forward slog on a heavy pitch in the rain. Don't think there is any argument on the disallowed tries and the ref was absolutely clueless

Christ all mighty we were poor. So many times we lost the ball in the red zone with knock ons and then marched you upfield with needless penalties.
As for Hulls dominance I thought we defended very well in normal play for the entire game. 8 Hulls points came from penalties and the other 6 from the quick 20metre restart. If we can cut down on these penalties we will be a better team.

| Reading a few reports it appears that D Hodgson try would have stood had their been a video ref, apparently ball was hit in act of tackle and should have been play on? poor call against the Giants? Never

| I thought we were the better side to be honest. It was 50/50 in the first half, 2nd half was mostly us. We broke the Hull line alot more, the only difference is that Hull took both chances that they had. On another day with another ref it could have been a totally different story. It was good to see Lauaki(?) go flying when Eorl bashed him. I came away from the game quite happy how we played really but my only concern is that in every game i've seen this season so far(including non Giants games), the ref has made cock ups that have had an influence on the games. Full time refs is a waste of time and if aything they've gone backwards.

| My thoughts on the game are these. It was a tough uncompromising encounter by two of the leagues more formidable outfits ( I reckon both teams will be there or there about come the end of the season). Hull were the better team in the early exchanges and I thought earned the lead they gained. However Huddersfield showed plenty of character and came back into the game strongly, credit to Crabtree and I must say Grix who I thought was outstanding (think you may have got yourself a cracking player there). Robinson blew a guilt edged opportunity before half time to get you back into the match, poor decision to go it alone IMO. Second period was a real arm wrestle which Hudds seamed to have the upper hand for most of it and deservedly got on the score sheet, but Hull held on gamely and time ran out for the Giants. The ref despite being ordinary got all the major decisions correct for me, is biggest failing is that he doesn't make it clear what he has awarded. Giants missed Hodgson (who wouldn't he as class act) but will be a real handful for every opposition this season as the squad has depth and quality. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see this encounter repeated in one of the major final's this season.
