, when they put up our team on the scoreboard i thought we`d get stuffed but the BOYS ripped into the stains and had em reeling on the ropes , to lose by that narrow margin was for me a VICTORY , just a thought , is that the first time that any S/L team has ever played a match with all 17 `home grown ` players so to speak, as in not ONE overseas player turning out for us?

It's a bit of a beggar when you go to Saints, play your reserve side, lose by only 2 points, and come away disappointed that you didn't win.

On telly there was stunned silence!! Heard a quiet rendition of Que sera srea and Fartown but the silence of the saints fans was deafening!!

only just got back cos of roadworks on m62 , but what a performance , i am so proud of the guys after that.

I have never heard the Saints crowd so quite. They should have been getting behind their team because they had a game on. I thought the knock-on which led to Saints try was dubious and so Saints were fortunate to win.

If we remain in 4th after the end of the normal rounds we would get Saints at home again...perhaps we should play the same set of lads and next time we may get the win

Depends greatly on the winners of the Saints v Rhino's game in 2 weeks time, the winner of that will most likely be the hub cap winners.

One thing that it does mean for me, is that we will not freeze against the Saints should we meet them again, like we might when you play a top 2 team, I'd go so far to say the only team we may do that against is the Rhino's, however I think that's been eroding since we came so close to beating them last time.

It is a big shame for the lad, but latest we've heard was it's ligament damage which wll rule him out next week, the message relayed on Sky was he was hoping to get back for the grand final, a little presumptuous maybe, but hope he's right.

Thought it was a tremendous effort from your young uns last night. Certainly shows that your club is in a very healthy state. If anyone told me at the start of the season, that come August the Giants would have a chance to win the double, and they could send a team of kids to Saints and get harshly beaten by just 2 points, I'd've said they were mad.

Thanks buddy. To have suffered the past. Barracudas, going bust, GiantEagles making us the most despised team in RL, 4 years at the foot of Superleague etc, it's impossible to express in words how good it feels currently to be a Giants fan. The amount of false dawns we've been through I've lost count. The expectations that have always fallen through but NOW, we really do seem to be going somewhere, and it's never felt better. they did but the point I'm making, is we were that close to getting a point out of the game, a game Sky and many others didn't think we had the right to even field a team like that against Saints.

Watching the build up I think they were planning to rip us to shreds. To be fair it would have been a win too if it wasn't for Elliot Hodgesons non knock on. That said the ref made errors that benefited us too so we can't grumble too much.
