I haven't 'settled' for 8th, i am certainly aware we can finish higher and even make the semi finals if we step up a gear BUT i'm also not gonna expect or hope we do, it's a massive task and one that will be a massive bonus if we do it, personally i don't think we can as we have too much to make up, we're expecting teams above us to go to pot while we step up another couple of levels.

The point i was making was we have survived in super league and surely after the 1st half of the season that in itself is a huge achievement already, maybe it's more a case of some people have unrealistic hopes.

Be happy for what has been achieved and hope we can build on this next year rather than putting more pressure on them already.

A Giants and Saints win this weekend and the 4th spot is wide open! With everyone left to play each other once, it would mean a win over a top 4 team and 1 more win in the remaining fixtures. A loss Friday and it makes it a whole lot harder.

I wouldn't be happy this year if we finished 8th, not considering expectations at the start of last season, but I'm pleased not to be in the middle 8s and if we can get top 6 it's got to be classed as a successful season.

Bodes well for the next few years, we have a good young nucleus with some decent exposure to super league. We have a proper squad now.

I said at the time when we couldn't buy a win that we weren't far off and it proved to be the case when we got near enough a full strength team out.

Am I happy to settle for safety this season? Yes. Do I strive for us to be top four? Yes. Do I think we are going to win Super League every year for the next 20 years? No.

There's nothing wrong with realism. Doesn't mean that it lacks ambition.

3rd and 4th both on 26 so 2 spots up for grabs, its going to be a real fight to the end.
The cup will also play a big part as usual.

Excellent post, How ironic that some of those that had decided after half a dozen games that we weren't good enough, the players brought in weren't good enough, the coaching staff weren't good enough are now calling others 'ambitionless' for suggesting that making the top 8 is not good enough!!!

I'm happy to have avoided relegation, the middle 8's, the million pound game, we were perilously close to not doing those last year, to suggest we go from being bottom and surviving relegation by a couple of coats of paint, looking like doing the same this year, to be expecting us to be challenging for a semi-final place a matter of weeks later is a bit much, the fact we can still make the semi's at all is testament to the fine job the whole club has done in the last 3 months.

maybe some have taken a leaf out of the giants own book with ambition, wasnt long ago they turned their nose up at playing in the world club challenge....

yes does seem ironic! they will be on here in a few weeks wanting stone out for not getting in the top 4....

obviously top 4 finish is what we want but some of us are just being realistic.

This year is only 2/3rds gone mate and you are already looking to hope for next year, and for heavens sake lets not put pressure on them to get any more results, It's job done.

But survival was the aim this year, not top 4, that's my point.
As i've already said the fact we can still make the top 4 is a huge achievement, i hope we do, BUT at the same time i won't be disappointed if we don't as that was never the aim this year.

We finished bottom last year, this year we struggled too so to expect them to now make the semis or GF is a tad unfair considering that was an unthinkable target even a month ago. Be ambitious by all means but don't expect too much too soon.

I haven't seen anyone post expectations of getting into the top four, I have seen one or two posts about it being possible, In any event we should be trying to finish as high as we can.

It wasn't realistic to think Leeds could win the Trophy from 5th, or that we could make the Eight 3 months ago.

I don't expect them to get into the top 4 mate, I expect them to try and win every game, Am i putting unfair pressure on them by doing that, I thought that was what they were supposed to do.

We have finished phase one, Eight out of 12, We have survived, and i'm as glad as you but It's not job done. We should not be hoping about next season, we should be getting on with this one.

But fair enough mate i know how passionate you are about the club, and when you are, survival is a massive success. To me survival is just that survival, I'm looking to push on from that so we have something to build on next season.

Wakey have shown enough this year that they are a top 4 side and I personally cant see us finishing above them.

They have power, speed, grafters and experience in their team and could be dark horses for the grand final.

Our injuries have meant we've never really got any consistency together, although a full strength team next year is an exciting prospect.

Would be great if we can perform well for the rest of super 8's and have a good push for the top 4 and let all the other teams around us know that we will be back for next year.

We've hardly been on Sky and rarely get spoken about in the media which had allowed to quietly go about our business. The improvements post Swinton game are massive and we can be proud of all the players and staff for what they've achieved this year. Although as pro sports players I would be hugely disappointed if they didn't push for the top 4 in the 8's.

Why would they open a full stand for such a small number?

What is a small number? when does it become a big number? when you charge top money you expect a descent seat not shoved in a corner all modern stadiums have a away section.

The KCOM is nice & modern, don't worry, and has it's own away section in E1-E3. There'll be no shoving either, the KCOM is fitted with standard turnstiles and extremely polite stewards, you can just walk in at your own pace.

Whilst the seats aren't cushioned like those in our luxurious West Stand sections, I can confirm that they are in decent working order and are consistent with the home areas of the ground (colour may differ).

If in the unlikely event you being enough fans to fill E1-E3, the North Stand will be opened.

So yeah it looks like the chavs have been moved out of Chav corner and we've got crap seats for £23.

Was the same last year, we even had a great big pillar blocking the view, but even when we had the North stand they still shoved us all in 1 block, regardless of how many came.

A pillar from what? There shouldn't have been anything in the way obstructing your view?
