Nobody could field a team like that and expect to have much of a chance, which is what most people expected, That said it was a very disappointing effort from most of the players, The worst thing is that our so called first choice players were not our best players last night and to be honest i don't think Hull really needed to exert themselves. It's no good coming on and saying how many Cas beat Leeds by as some sort of justification, I could just as easily say if we had played Cas they would have put 150 on us. It was not up to standard.

I don't know if RS ever reads this forum ( if he does ) Rick our defensive line speed is the slowest of any team playing S league " whatever team you pick" and it's difficult to find words to express how little idea we have when attacking the try line. You said it would take two seasons and i think you are being optimistic there , but we have to stick in there and find a way to get better, I didn't expect anything except a loss last night but i expected a better showing than that. Early days.

Have to put that down as one of them games where firstly we would not expect to win given the injuries, number of young and inexperienced players, players changing position, late changes to the line up immediately before KO etc...

After the poor start with possession coughed up early in sets - some brain fart passes - and confidence losses through conceding some real poor tries we were never going to compete.

Having said that and whilst fully accepting the loss I was still very disappointed with our style of play. With the exception of Seb we were never going to break through the middle of a good strong team but failed to play any other way to at least test ourselves. One out plays abound far too often for mine. Can accept a loss far better when we have been a bit more adventurous in our play but then through lack of experience, bad luck, or just good defence fail to get on terms.

Good points though:
Seb was outstanding.
Sam Wood showed he can score for fun even playing out of position.
Darnall looked confident and secure at the back.
Others at least got some experience and no doubt learnt loads.

Onwards to Leigh with hope that we can get a better game plan and preparation regardless of who is available.

The main problem I have have been over the 3 home games I have witnessed.
Losing isn't the biggy for me. It's how consistently bad our defence and line speed have been. Our game plan is quite frankly boring.

It is exciting watching our young players having a real go and coping well but I fear we might miss what they are capable of if our one drive down the middle rugby is the tactic we will use all season.

Passionate fans like myself will put up with whatever is put in front of us, but some won't buy season tickets if we are boring to watch.

We aren't currently strong enough down the middle to do what we are doing.

Not necessarily all decisions change the next play. We would have had head and feed at the scrum if they had given the in-touch which is perfectly clear by the video, and the touchy`s position he should have seen it. Also was our first effort a forward pass, I didn`t notice at the time, but with Bentham reffing us I won`t be surprised if it wasn`t !!!!!!!!

in a way it ws, we had just had a try disallowed before and then you went and scored this which wasnt a try, for the young lads it would have been a confidence booster for the rest of the game

This is why non televised games should have video usage.
Different set of rules apply

every game should have a video ref or none at all

but suppose it costs too much

so many tries that would be chalked off if every game had the vid ref

IF yen inescapable and ad flagged (which he should have done as it's clearly in touch), it would have been a scrum, head and feed to Hull on the 20 yard line. It was all on a free play after your man knocked on after a crunching tackle from Scott Taylor. It would just have delayed the inevitable.

Biggest disappointment was McIntosh lack of eticate (sorry cant spell)

Daz I have said before that your loyalty does you credit but you need to get into the real world mate, People stay behind and clap when they have seen a good effort, the people drifting out with ten minutes to go tell you what they thought about it.

I could say to you why aren't you a wheeler, there are a few clubs, or why aren't you a golfer, there are even more of them. The people of Huddersfield don't deserve clubs of any sort, they should be ashamed of themselves , that includes you Daz you should be supporting these clubs and showing your appreciation for what they are doing.

On the other hand maybe you should be allowed to make your own choices and not have some one else trying to impose theirs on you, people have a free will to use as they see fit, you can bang the drum for all your worth till hell freezes over, you wont change the minds of a handfull. They will do what they want no matter what you say.
