Firstly the achievement for Huddersfield of getting into the top 4 is the key one, and congratulations to them for doing this. This is the real achievement.

"Winning" the LLS means zip.

The rules of the competition ensure this. For this reason you cannot say "it's the reward for being the most consistent team/best team over the season" etc etc

The reality is that teams do not go all out to win the LLS because the structure of the competition means that it's not necessary to do so.

SL is all about a knockout competition at the end of the regular rounds.


If Huddersfield can make it to the GF or even win it, then this will be despite finishing 1st after the regular season, not on account of it.

If we had Club call with Leeds finishing 3rd it wouldn't work as we would've beaten Wigan and they'd be the lowest top 4 loser and play the higher placed 5-8 winner assuming it's Saints.

Spot on - to fans whose club have won things regularly it mean nothing, to us it means everything, the world to our club - it may be a stepping stone to further trophies in years to come but for now it is the 1st bit of Silverware for the club to build on. You can bang on all you like, all of you, about it meaning nothing but it will fall on deaf ears, we aren't interested - ITS AN AWARD FOR DOING THE BEST !.

I'm really happy for Hudds, i don't understand the reason people are giving you such a hard time, it's more a pyschological achievement than the winning of a shield.

Congratulations you are the most consistent side in the league , now all you have to do is to prove you are a champion side by fighting your way through the play offs when all the big boys have no excuses left and win the grand final . In my opinion you can do it but probably only if some one else removes Warrington for you

It's perfectly possible that you would still have come top. Unlikely imo, but possible.

What is absolutely true (as Wigan know from bitter experience last year) is that it is way more important to hit the playoffs with a healthy, confident squad than it is to finish top after the regular rounds.

To be honest if we don't we don't. The real important thing is we keep improving year on year and if we do we can have no complaints.

We have alot to prove but that goes for anyone in any sport and until you win every game, league, cup etc you enter that is true be you Leeds Rhinos, Tiger Woods, Andy Murray or Phil Taylor.

Too many people are too bothered with what others think and go either full out attack or get defensive (verbally) and do not seem to enjoy what is going on infront of their eyes but get bogged down in things that at the end of the day could get argued about for days and still both sides could pick holes in each others arguments.

No one goes out to not win as it's not in their best interests to do so it's just a sad and deluded Wigan fan upset their club isn't getting this shield trying to get a bite as their own club goes through the fabled Giants slump! They even say so in their own summary that you need to go into the play offs with momentum which sadly Wigan aint atm! Trying to take the gloss of our amazing success! They are just pathetic!

Why are people even entertaining these idiots! who cares what they think, If we do win the LLS then i for 1 will be celebrating from the roof tops! They playoffs dont mean a thing to me. Heres a scenario....hudds win LLS then get 8 players injured and fail miserably in the playoffs due to this and say warrington win the final, what does this prove? absolutly nothing! The whole meaning of superleague champions is the wrong way round, the playoff winners should be the minor champions and top of the table should be the super league champions. And before everyone shouts at me i have said this since the whole silly concept was invented!!!

There aren't any financial rewards for where you finish after the regular rounds - final competition places and prize money (in reality the cut from the play-off money) are determined by the play-offs/Grand Final.
