It should because you will start to look like small minded xenophobic's. Saints have been knocked out of the cup over the years by dodgy decisions (mostly against the Pies ).
This probably isn't the first time, and it definitely wont be the last time, that you will lose a game because of self perceived injustice.
The world isn't against you, it just struggles to get everything right all the time.

| We are small in regards of rugby league not population.
Despite finishing top last year people still do not class us as a "top 4 club"
I am fine with that. And as I said I do not feel there is a conspiracy. However if the rfl were put on the spot and forced to answer "who would you prefer in the challenge cup final" 100% they would say saints. Mainly due to fan base. I understand and accept this.
It's common sense.
And trust me, it wouldn't matter what Mr Davy did go advertise the club. We will never get 10,000 home fans.
Wigan won the fa cup last year and were in the premier league for years but there crowds in comparison to others were poor. It's just not a football town.
Maybe we aren't a rugby town.
Anyway, less,of the nonsense, I'm looking forward to tomorrow

| As the anger subsides you will see this a daft idea.
A little cheeky dig at Bentham with loads of drop goals in our next match he refs or something fair enough, but a full on protest is just ridiculous. We were robbed of our place but we need to move on...it's the game unfortunately. Let's concentrate on smashing Hull FC tomorrow and making sure we're top 8 and get a spot in the Grand Final!

| Protest against Genocide, protest against inequality, protest against the treatment of minorities or against the treatment of the poor and elderly. Protest against anyone of the serious issues that fill this world around us.
Don't protest about one drop goal disallowed by a fat bald buffoon.
Life's too short.

| We've all been "robbed" by dodgy decisions as long as the game has been played. I can reel off about a dozen but won't bore you other than to say you're not the first, won't be the last, but if you had 13 men on the field for the last 15 minutes we wouldn't be discussing this now

I think the Giants are missing a trick with the university. As someone who has just finished 3 years at Huddersfield Uni only a stones throw from the ground, there was barely anything aimed at the students. Occasionally we'd get an offer for £10 tickets but they were always for games against the likes of London, Catalan, Widnes etc. What would Huddersfield have had to lose by giving out free student tickets for the Saints game? Rugby league is a game people will get hooked on given the chance but getting a foothold with student fans wouldn't take that much effort in terms of advertising. Poster campaigns and messages spread through the student body aren't difficult to organise. Give them free tickets for some of the bigger games to get them hooked and you might be surprised how many might start going regularly. I'm a saints fan and used to take a load of my mates whenever we played there, a fair amount of them still attend games fairly regularly and there's more of them going all the time. The uni is expanding and with more and more student accomodation based around the middle of Huddersfield I think the potential is there to gain a lot more fans.

really - now my mate who went to the uni got tickets for £7 for EVERY match she attended!
looks like its a case of poor marketing again.

| i was aware of the uni discount tickets, but seemingly a lot of students didn't.
considering the university were our main sponsor for a few years ( both cup finals were worn with their name across the shirts!) i really don't think we did enough to entice more people from the uni.
old ground though we have gone over it lots of times on here previously.

| Instead of trying to organize a protest. Get all your like minded fans together and ask the RFL to put you on courses that will help the game.
You could learn to ref, Linesman, in goal touch job etc.
The officials are only people and if you can do a better job then volunteer. Without theses guys there would be NO games.
As another poster has implied It's only a sport not life and death enjoy.

| Is the protest going to be that the RFL should allow Huddersfield wider goals than other teams, or that Huddersfield should be allowed more spear tackles????

| Guys, cut the lad some slack, yes the original idea looked silly and looked like bitter Huddersfield fans, what this is suggesting is a League/nationwide protest involving fans from all over who are fed up of their team or just by watching games on TV been spoilt by inadequecies/inconsistencies from the officials who seem un-answerable to their mistakes. It isn't just about some Giants fans been bitter cos of Sunday, he does have a point, every week there seems to be a major talking point within Rugby League and it usually involves a Referee so there is people out there who obviously share this view.
It may or may not work, but at least he is trying something and i say good on him for at least having the balls to try...
PS: the HGSA/Club are currently in talks with the Uni....

| So I take it the attempted drop goal is no longer the focus of the protest as the ref was actually correct.

It never was! My issue with the RFL is that the 'little clubs' get the s****y end of the stick in a regular basis! I also believe should the RFL be fair therefore allowing smaller clubs, like us, to win big trophies we won't remain a small club!
It's just an opinion, which most will disagree with but yeah there you go

"Small clubs" and "big clubs" are nothing but a construct in your mind - by your argument refs would never of allowed Bradford's fall from grace (or similarly warringtons rise from mid table to challengers) - and if we were to separate big clubs and small clubs - Huddersfield would be in the current "top 5" anyway.
There is no agenda by the rfl to separate the big couple of clubs - there is no instruction by them to be "more fair" to big clubs - if you honestly think "saints are the bigger team, I better make we don't upset their fans" when through any of the refs heads before the game, I would suggest you have your head checked. The rfl appoint referees they believe to be best capable of reffing the matches - what's more fair than that? There is no more involvement from them :s
Now, there's an argument that better supported clubs may get a few more 50:50s (more fan pressure on ref will have an effect regardless on the quality of the refs - this is more noticeable in football however) - but even then home advantage becomes a bigger factor.

| Tell you what should be a good idea, go to a game where you have several refs on the pitch, and every play is anylised to the Nth degree. Look at every call on the tv ah they have that it's called American football
Or accept the fact our sport is still the one we all love.mayby some folk need to get hold of the laws of the game and get out and ref, learn the offside rule etc, learn that bentham only needs to go to the screen if there was doubt in his mind, the tv shots at that game were not good enough to call it.
Refs have no agenda on who they want to win that's just stupid. It's funny how a home crowd never make a sound when there team get the 50/50 call.
As for the blokes on here whinging about hudds not being allowed to win anything and it's an rfl conspiracy. Err did you not win the shield last year? I do believe you were Wembley finalists not long back
