Giantsrl.com can confirm that Huddersfield Giants star Danny Brough will be missing for a period of eight weeks after scans revealed that he had suffered ankle ligament damage following a second half injury in the claret and gold’s 40-18 victory over Castleford Tigers at The Shay on Sunday.
Nathan Brown and the Giants coaching staff are also waiting on the result of a scan on full-back Scott Grix who also left the field in the second half against Castleford for a period of time.

U watch Greg Brown(rehab man) and physio's work their magic they have got a great track record of getting players back before their due dates over last 2-3 seasons Broughy will be back in 5-6 weeks u watch!!

A real shame for Broughy, his form has been outstanding this year with him getting some real consistency to his game and finally getting the recognition he deserves. As for Kyle Wood - I saw him play at 7 against Wakefield in a pre-season friendly and he created loads and has a decent kicking game himself; would do well alongside Brown and definitely worth a run out.

The sooner he gets back to fully fit and out on the field though the better because his kicking game is pivotal to us getting results when we're not playing well. We play in the oppositions half a lot and much of that is down to what Brough can do when putting boot to ball combined with an enthusiastic chase.

with brough out i think we should revert to the brown and robinson combination with lunt going back at hooker changing with faiumu
kirmond,horne or gilmour can take faiumus place in the pack
other option is just to put wood in as a straight replacement, hes not let us down but the above would work better for me...we are going to miss the kicking game badly!

He's been outstanding and consistent for years and should have got noticed 2-3 years ago, he hasn't magically improved at the Giants 
However much as I hate to say it playing for you and in a better team has put him more in the shop window and I'd be gutted for him if he was robbed of the chance again. |

i agree when he was at hull fc he was brilliant i cant believe no one in super league signed him then as he droped to the championship before going to wakefield.
but i think if he comes back and carries on playing well his a certain for the 4 nations his kicking game alone is something that england miss and missed it against the exiles last friday |

At Wakefield he would show his brilliance, but didn't have the consistency - this is the area which NB has specifically improved and it shows. |

Being surrounded by better players makes a good player look great. Just look at Martin Gleeson when he left us for Saints. Went from relegation fodder to GB international in half a season.

To be fair though Codey, Gleeson was a class act even in that season as a teenager but i do agree that good players become brilliant players just by having better players around them !
