I've stayed away from all talk of rugby after last week's match, but tonight, well! This was one of the best performances of any rugby team I have ever had the privilege to see.

IMHO Wakefield weren't that bad at all. They played with passion, they tried fluid attacking moves, they played for almost the whole match without giving up. They passed the ball well. Unfortunately for them they were up against a side which decided that they wanted to show the world what they could do.

Defensively they were out of this world. Against most other teams Wakey would have scored at least 3 tries, but the Giants were just that. Giants.

Attack-wise, well! What more can be said. Brett Hodgson? Send him back to Oz [only joking.

What we've got to learn from tonight's performance is when to keep the ball moving and when to take the tackle. Having said that, with a little more luck, we would have scored another 4 tries.

What a time to be a GIANT.

Brilliant. Outstanding. I can't find enough superlatives.

We were a joy to watch.

At best we were shameful, at worst utter tripe! Even Stanley Rangers coulld have beaten us last night. Worst match ever.

Rather hoping wakey fans would take it on the chin, reverting back to Sheffield is very poor sport IMO.

I think her problem is more to do with her own embarrassment to my initial quip about keeping warm and nothing to do with rugby league.

FYI Wadski - Wakefieldite is male: a bloke, a chap, a lad. Hope that's cleared things up.

totally agree there fella, we all hate losing, but from what i can gather we played a blinder for 80 mins and wakefield fans may be embarrassed or peed off by the defeat .. but as rugby league fans they should have realised that their opposition hit top form last night and on those days all you can do is enjoy the rugby played by the opposition and swallow your pride

Some of the tries scored last night got a round of applause from fans stood near to us, some really good stuff to enjoy but its hard as you will understand, still i signed up for the long haul and you sometimes have to accept it it has part and parcel of the great game.

Decided last week against Wire I wouldn't be too upset that we lost but I could only ease the pain by not being too overjoyed when we won our next game. Rudyard Kipling's 'IF' and all that. So, I'm happy we won but it's just another game, leading to next week.
And to the Wakey fans that had to run the gauntlet of 'We can see you sneeking out' walking past the half way line from some of our fans, fair play to you; It feels terrible I know but you all took it in good humour. That's what makes league fans the best. Good luck for next week.
