all the backs apart from grix were poor last night,i mean cudjoe? but never mind lets slag hodgson off again!

He made half a mistake all night and you had to pick up on it.

Made comments about Simpson yet? What bout Grix's quarter error? Brough kicked straight to one of their players once? Fuey didn't manage to get many passes away in the tackle?

Great performance from Dodgy again last night. That ball and all tackle on Fox saved a certain try. He was always available to take the ball back and bar one handling error he was top drawer. Took his try well at the end too.

Took 3 high balls without any problems. Scored a try. Almost jinked past 5 or 6 players with an open field in front of him. Ran the ball out of defence. It's a wonder he manages to keep his place in the team.

what happened with the last try, he seemed to fall/ stumble over line onto his knees rather than just put the ball down simply with his hands

he was certainly a massive improvement on last week as were all our 3/4's but obviously im sure the 3 tries they scored were his fault,and he dropped another pass which means he's rubbish.
but yet again hodgson was pretty solid,ran the ball out well and never shirked his defensive duties and as has been said that tackle on fox was top notch and at the time a crucial one as rovers would have been right back in the game.

Brilliant tackle, not only did it save a try, he brought him down and smoothered his arms, no chance of an offload, awesome.

what has hodgy done to get so much abuse, due to interweb i have seen last 3 games and at quins and against wigan he wasnt a star, but no worse than other players.. where did it all start or is it just a case of the scapegoat etc

Yep and it was his fault that big Willie got that kick through for the first try even though he was on the other side of the pitch.

Almost forgot to mention the dodgy play the ball they scored from Hodgson should of told the ref to go to specsavers before the game, it's his fault.

You know what I suspect the floodlight failure had something to do with him too.....lets get rid.

Went down low for his try so no chance of being bundled into touch, was great play.
Ball and all tackle prevented certain try at crucial time, great play.
Made break and passed inside to Bruno who had IMO overran the pass again great play by DHodgy. A few who have got it in their heads that he not good enough but he 2nd best winger in our squad and way in front of 3rd best winger.
He gives everything for C&G when he pulls the shirt on so let's get behind Him and give him everything back.

TBH I am glad he plays for us and not against us anyway!!!!

i thought he had a good game, always looked like breaking free when bringing the ball back, he doesnt look big or fast but always seems hard to put down though. the tackle on Fox was a defo try saver too, and to cap it off he plopped over the line for a try.

I've not been one of the Hodge knockers but I'm worried when a high ball goes over to him cos he very rarely contests it. Last night there was a high ball that he never leapt for,he just stood with arms open waiting for it while HKR players jumped, luckily for us Hall jumped and lost the ball over the line. I think some of you guys go OTT about how good he is, just like the ones who go OTT about how bad he is. At the end of the day he's had his best days that's for sure, the days when he'd pin his ears back when in the clear, but you can't knock his positional sense for finishing off tries near the line. Whether he'll be a regular wingman by the end of the season we'll have to see how Simpson goes cos the way Jerry's going he'll be the first name on the team sheet.

david hodgson is a work horse in our team. how many times does he come inside and take the ball up against the big men to give our forwards a rest. he can score trys and is a fantastic player. people need to leave him alone and let him do his job. he is a top player

How would people feel about me locking this thread. I am feeling bored by it and find it quite ridiculous and pathetic now.

facts

Hodgson does a lot of work and is very experienced
he has lost a yard of pace but finishes well
he has been our top scorer for the last couple of years
his contrat is up at the end of the season
NB picks the team not us.

Most people recognise his good work and a couple of posters are unhappy he is not as quick as Linford Christie.
