| Responsible for what though? A 3% drop in attendances across Super League as a whole or a 20% drop at Wakefield?

| On attendances to the round and also like for like fixtures the drop is actually 11%. Celtic and Salford coming in clouds it a little. As the season goes on the general trend is for all clubs gates to tail off slightly so expect the percentage to increase slightly as the season progresses.

| 3% drop across SL can be blamed on two things I think.
1. The credit crunch, to say it hasnt impacted RL is just a ridiculous statement, its affected every single facet of life in this country.
2. I wonder what effect the demise of the Bulls is having on the gates. No more huge Odlsum derbies agaisnt Leeds, no more big crowds for their games at Hudds, Wakey & Cas etc. Less number for the games at Saints and Wigan too. All in all it adds up.
not to mention that 20% drop at wakey will help drag the whole ammount down. (1.5% of the drop across all clubs can be levelled at the 20% wakey drop - implying in real terms that the numbers across the board are only down 1.5%, nothing really in the scheme of things)
As for Wakey, thats a puzzler, maybe its a combination of too many seasons scraping by, on/off promises of a new ground, no real progression on or off the pitch all just makes people not bothered any more?
Touching on our season ticket offer, I think in the present climate the club might be courting financal suicide to NOT offer the same deal again this end of season, and I wonder if other clubs wont follow suit.

20% is approx 1500 so that is approx 100 spectators per club which is not a 1.5% decrease in Leeds, Wigan, Catalan etc.

Don't know how I missed them out! Possibly confused myself as Cas are immediately above them in the league at the moment.

| i posted this on a discussion the VT about crwods which i think has contributed to our less than dramatic increase. I am not sure if it has affected other teams as well. I think there are only 4 SL teams who have better home than away records.
Quote I would saY that there are two main reasons for that .
Our home form has been DIRE PARTICULARLY AT THE BEGINING OF THE SEASON AND I THINK THE NEW SUPPORTERS AND SPECCIES WE BROUGHT IN HAVE GONE AND NOT BOTHERED COMING BACK.
SECONDLY I THINK WE HAVE BEEN ON sky FOR 50% OF OUR HOME GAMES THIS SEASON, WHICH HAS MEANT CHANGING kos AND TIMES TO SUIT. WHEN YOU ADVERTISE AS A SUNDAY TEAM AND PLAY HALF YOUR GAMES ON SAT OR FRI NIGHT IT AFFECTS ATTENDANCES. MY KIDS HAVE ONLY ATTENDED HALF OF OUR HOME GAMES AS GETTING HOME AT 11 OR 12 AT NIGHT IS TOO LATE FOR THEM. I KNOW THIS AFFECTS A LOT OF OUR FANS. iT ALSO WILL AFFECT THE NUMBER OF UNNATTACHED WALK UP FANS AS WELL AS HOME SUPPORT. UNFORTUNATELY BEING SUCCESSFUL MEANS THAT YOU BECOME SKYS WHORE .
NB will watch out for caps lock next time '"

Where do teh percentages for Quins & Wolves come from. I reckon Quibs are down 23% and Wolves down 17%. That's assuming yourfigures are correct.

| Don't forget last season we had the game against Catalan with the free tickets, that will have had a bearing on the increased average last season. All in all we are fairing pretty well this season.

But to be fair that is not a bad thing. To survive as a club we have to rely on our fans. If there is a slight increase in our attendances at the same time as there is a big drop in away support shows that we are doing something right in attracting HUDDERSFIELD fans. I am sure that we are then seeing spin offs in us having better away support and we must be doing better in regard to merchandising.
i would rather have an 8000 game average with 7000 giants fans than 9000 with 3000 away fans.

It most certainly has but as DG says what would you prefer more home fans or more away fans! let that be the away followings concerns not ours especially as now we haven't been the most expensive for many seasons now so that can't be an excuse! Our away support has increased a lot this year even if many other fans wouldn't agree. I for one have been to more away fixtures this season than ever before!

I would prefer more home and away just to get to that 10,000 mark.

we will get there but we need to do it by building on our support it is the quality of our support which will be in harmony with success on the pitch. As we get better less away fans will come because they wont be seeing their side win.
the more of our support the better the atmosphere the better the positive rewards for the team and the club.

To be fair to both of the Hull teams this season both games were played on a Friday night and were live on Sky. If I remember right last season they were both on a Sunday afternoon.

Yeah - + Leeds game was on Sky (sat afternoon) and Cas on Sky (Friday Night).
We've not been all that lucky with the Sky fixtures this season.
