| Or perhaps they have been picked with 2013 world cup in mind. These players are all quality but have struggled once the light wieght mobile tactics was sussed out by other teams.
We make some good signings to aid the sort of players that have made the squads and it could be a very different year for us.
I am sure that the giants boys will make us proud.
Goto be hard for the lads who are putting their heart and soul into the games when some around them cant be d when things are difficult.

| As a wakey fan it's a shame your ex-player Kirmond is not in the knights squad. 6 try, 6 games. Captains the side well and is having a good year.

100% agree. Had a great season and led by example since given the armband. Its players like Kirmo we have missed. Gives his heart and soul. Give him back and you can have Ferguson back

Nah you can keep ferguson. To be fair I always thought fergy had good potential. Just didnt seem to kick on his last year with wakey from when he broke into first team. Hopefully he can rediscover some form.
I thought we were getting a solid player in kirmo. How wrong was I!.
He has bulked up, found a mean step and shows good speed for a forward. Been our best signing from the three ex-hudds. Raleigh has been a machine and the leg drives get a 10+ gain most times. Overall thankyou for the players .
Not quite sure how chase got in there though.

| Always thought fergy was best for us at loose forward. Needs a regular spot and position to start showing what he can offer.
I hope that his potential has not dryed up and he kicks on.

| I've always liked kirmo- gives his all and a nice guy to boot- but I wouldn't swap him for LOD, doof (on form) chan or Bruno. Is he really a better/ on par player with the other back row forwards in the knights/ full squad. Nope.

Shows the difference in opinion. There are very few forwards in SL at present I would swap kirmo for. He's got a good habit of busting tackles and outpacing the opposition. Throughout the year he has improved both physically and skills. At 26 he's coming into what should be the best years of his career. I can see him playing for gb soon if he keeps it up. He is on par (maybe not better at present) with some forwards in the national team.

He'll never play for GB that I assure you.
Kirmond had a lot of fans at Huddersfield, a lot of who are on here, but when you look at the second row options we had at the Giants then I can see why he was let go.

| I think Kirmo breaks the line more often than most back rowers at Fartown. I'd pick him in our 17 and I bet his contract is half that of doof or LOD.

| I look at the back rowers we have and still wonder why we let him go.
Moreover I wonder why he got made into a forward!

| kirmond did very well in covering for o'donnell last season...
and would of continued to do so this year...bad decision letting him go
i would have him over ferres and prob lawrence and ferguson... chan though has been impressive. i like the other players just think kirmond offers more
anyway he has gone so lets move on.

| No chance would I have him over Bruno or chan. Both are better defensively by some margin and chan esp is more dangerous busting the line.
Kirmond would not have got a look in at the giants as a back row forward this season. He'd have played prop where he'd have been a lot less effective as he has been at wakey.

| Yep, Bruno, Fergie and Chan all better defensively than DK so good player though he is I understand the decision to let him go. Then signing Ferres I do not BF is way behind all including DK defensivly. Seems contrary to me

This is where we have missed O'Donnell big time, his defence, plus he took on every second carry before his injury.
If LOD ever comes back then Bruno for mine needs to go back to the threequarters, let's be right at this stage of his career Bruno cannot dominate/win rucks on attack, and if you are serious about winning trophies, this is what backrowers have to do,like Westwood or Hock.

yes id put o'donnell ahead of lawrence... when o'donnell came back from his last injury he played very well, lets hope he comes back sunday.
for the centres cudjoe and wardle are the first picks.... mcgillvary the wing....the other wing is up for grabs murphy/george/lawrence/dawson

| Lawrences defence is absolutly outstanding and for me he is a second row and we should not even consider moving him into the backs.
I also did not think his attack was that bad, but a lot on here are saying he lacks go forward. So i have just done a quick compare of the average metres per carry stats for the top seond rowers in super league this season.
Jones Buchannon 7.34
Westwood 7.07
Chan 6.9
Soliola 6.85
Manu 6.84
Delaney 6.79
Hock 6.76
Lawrence 6.72
Waterhouse 6.42
Hanson 6.32
Tickle 5.74
Not too bad sat between Hock and Waterhouse in a position he only just started playing.
