I just wanted to see what you all thought regarding Brough being out injured and your poor start to the season.
Looking at how badly your season has started so far do you believe that you are a one man team,and that you can't perform at your best and actually win games without your talisman Brough?

Or do you believe that you will be able to turn things around without Brough in your side?

Next weeks game comes against a Rhinos side that was also better previously with their talisman Sinfield playing

Is this some kind of joke.

We currently are without

Brough
Wood
Wardle
Grix
Crabtree
Huby
Ellis

as well as losing Robinson and Ferres permanently. Every team in the league would struggle without 9 senior players.

Even 3 games in it is clear to everyone that You need Brough back fit and raring to go otherwise you will not make the top 4 play offs

If he's not back soon then your season could be one of not finishing in the middle 8's at all costs

I still think that you will be ok and will finish in the top 8

We wouldn't of won with Brough in the team. Beaten against a very good Widnes side. Simple as that. It's round 3 and it's a very long season.
Obviously you've not got anything better to write about than an equally bad start to last season to the Giants (who in the end got the top 4)

The fact that we are around 9 1st team players down might have more to do with it. We've won with and without Brough before and will do so again, just Leeds would do with Maguire, Widnes with brown, etc etc. In fact with the exception of today we've looked pretty good without him. So no.

And to quote your good self just yesterday:

we will be fine, we could have Lockyer and Thurston playing in the halves today and it wouldn't have made a difference, we were beaten a better, far more experienced side today.

Are you saying that the coach is not up to it?

what about the other just as important players we're missing ?? not just Brough out...look at our missing list and tell me that no team in the country wouldn't struggle without that kind of talent !!

Without trying to fuel the troll I think I can honestly say that we are no longer a one man team...at times in previous years the loss of brough would seriously hamper our chances in games. However Ellis has taken on more duties the longer he has been here they have developed a great partnership. While brough may take the lions share it is because he is one of the best halves in the league so that makes sense.
We lost brough and Connor a young lad who is learning how to play in the halves had come in pre season against hkr in parts, Catalan, saints in parts, Wigan and today. Three 40 -20s across those so good runs and long kicks put in for some decent territory all of that was partnered with Ellis as brough was rested/injured!
So no I would say we are more than a one man team! Just when that man me brough is fit his is a brilliant addition to the squad and the best half we have.

You call it what you want squire, it's understandable that you've got the hump and inconsolable because your not having it your own way, all the other clubs have their injury problems but don't feel sorry for themselves and just get on with and don't make the excuses like you seem to be doing, as for trolling you and a couple more on here are no strangers to it yourselves and for my part I'm just pleased at the situation you find yourself in and after all the crap you've heaped on our club with your unwanted comments I find it so amusing enjoying your embarrassment, it's funny how people see it differently when it's their turn

You Guys have a lengthy injury list, as a Leeds fan I can sympathise with that right now. While I wouldn't say your a one man team, I think like us, you have lost your most important player (Brough, for us Maguire). And like use you might have picked up some points in the close game you had been involved in if he had been fit.

I'm actually looking forward to next week. I asked a mate of mine who would play in the halves for you guys next week and he said Connor and ???

Certainly a good platform for two sets of promising players.

Thats the second time you've hinted at someting else being the issue re Brough. Spill the beans.

Brought Leeds I've heard from a few people

The loss of Brough is a blow but not a huge one
Ellis and Connor were doing well as our pivots I think

It's losing Ellis mid game so Cudjoe had to go to pivot was an issue
Being down two international props is an issue
Losing an international centre and fullback

Not to mention unplanned losses of Robbo and Ferres


Once we get bodies back then we'll see but three games in is a little early to speculate
And we're not bottom of the league just yet...

Cudjoe has played Half back in his early days ..apart from that there is no one else, Leeming or Hinchliffe maybe but as far as i know neither have any experience at half back.

i was hinting at the injuries to the other players we have

as i said previously, the biggest problem we had was moving Bruno to centre,not because he is a poor centre ( he was our best player by a mile yesterday!) but because their is no one else making the tackles and putting in the hard work he does in the middle, Widnes knew that and targeted our middle before getting quick and fast balls to the backs. we had no answer to it, so even if we had Brough and Ellis in there, the result, i fear would have been the same without Lawrence in the middle.

could be a (slight) possibility that either, Brough or Kyle Wood could be back,or both of them, but that is a long shot and i wouldn't want to risk either of them if they aren't anywhere near fit.

i would be tempted to play connor and Hinchy, i don't think Kruise is mobile enough to play in the halves, although if he did i'm sure he wouldn't let us down!
i would leave Leroy in the centres as apart from Bruno and Macintosh we don't have much cover there, and we need some experience in the backs.

Our fans sem deluded.

We are a one man team and without Brough we lack any creativity in the half backs.

We might win against poor teams but without Brough we will never beat a good team in a big game. Even if we got all the missing players back we would be competitive but would not beat the top teams

Ellis is no Brough and i have yet to see anything from Connor that suggests he will be anything but a bit part player. He is young and has less pace than Briers did in the season he retired. He also has more niggle than Ben westwood but without the tackling. He needs to adapt his game completely that will take a long time to do.

WE have needed a good half who can run to play off Brough for the last two years but have not had one.

As for people saying we have lost an international full back they are the same people who were saying drop him last season.
We need to avoid the drop this season and have proper rebuilding next season with a new half back, full back, LF and centre second row as priority.
