Can he tackle? Simple question needs answering after today.

Had a poor game against Wigan and today he was shocking. How many try's did he let in with poor tackling ?

He was crap today.even worse our best stand off is playing out of position and is soon to leave.

How about geixy back to full back,brown to stand off and eden to loose forward.

nope he cant tackle, tops the missed tackles count for us...even brown brought him off the pitch

not good enough in the current position he plays, gets caught all to often with the ball and play breaks down

The blame doesnt lie completely with Grix. He is a number 1 playing at 6. Time to start playing players in their correct position, ie Brown at 6.

yep agree....but its our new style of play and brown is loose forward now

so move eden away from full back?

when lee is back maybe he can replace grix? or moore? (he came on for him today)

Grix is performing very poorly at the moment regardless of what position he is playing.

missing tackles, throwing silly passes etc is down to the player not the position, i do agree though that we need to get back to playing players in their favoured/best positions and stop trying to make us a team of multi positioned players.

Looked very out of his depth today in defence. Embarrassing.

. When playing at FB he looked a natural SO. Playing at SO he wasn't up to much.

However, his short inside passing led to at least 2 tries.

But Brown is a converted centre!!

I agree craackers - but our coach doesn't so he's a loose forward now !!!!!

Brown joined us in 2006 and apart from a couple of games when he first arrived has never played centre for us. So the move to half back was done long before Nathan Browns days.
There is this big thing made about him playing loose forward but he is playing exactly the same role as last year. He is not playing as a loose forward he is playing as third half back.
He also scored one and created one of our first two tries and would have created another walk in if Wardle and George had not messed up so badly.

Grix on the other hand is more of a worry. He set up a couple of tries but how much llonger can we afford to carry him in defence.

In all fairness most teams carry some players in defence and most teams seek to target weaker defenders. Our problem of late has been that there is too much carrying to do when we have a light pack defensively.

There is a balance to be struck, does the greater attacking strikepower outweigh defensive shortcomings?

to me grix is a average player full stop, who hasnt really got a position, he wasnt a full back when he came or a half back, he spent a fair amount of time at wakey on the wing, which probably explains his woeful defending.

my memory isnt that short though ivor, he was a average full back in my eyes did ok but nothing special, unlike the current full back billy eden, why if grix was such a great full back did we go out and sign 2 players in murphy and eden to fill that role, grix who for what its worth i dont dislike as a player is a good utility player and a squad player in my eyes, but as a regular starter average, decent with ball in hand sometimes awful at others, same defensively.

murphy is a centre and should replace leroy hopefuly leroy might then find some form scott played in almost every postion for wakey . maybe switch with bruno when defending

To be fair to Grix his tackle success % so far this season (168 tackles 35 missed tackles ) 14 in the last two games is exactly the same as last year (111 tackle 23 missed tackles ) there has been a weakness down our right hand side defending all season Danny Brough has been moved to the other side as hes had problems there but its something that needs looking at collectively as Leroy and Jermaine are also making their fair share of cock ups

We bought a FB so that Grix could move to SO so that Brown could move to LF.

and also because he wasnt good enough at full back as a last line of defence...the amount of times players just scooted around him and handed him off last season, i lost count.

Didn't hear you saying this last season when Grix was receiving credit from the pundits. How many people said that they were wrong when they thought that Hodgson [Brett, not your mate would be sorely missed? Answer, plenty.

Grix was outstanding at FB. You're on your own with this scapegoat.
