listened to the post match comments from thorman, said hes been trying to tell brough for a while he needs to let others do things and this will then give him more space, also said the last play for the drop goal was perfect as they were all looking to charge down brough but left out rankin just a shame it didnt work, says also he almost went to play on instead of going for a penalty to put us 6 clear but didnt have the balls haha


also that he didnt do much regards coaching tactics etc just gave them the hairdryer treatment which is what they needed, stone just too nice a bloke

What I really dislike about Brough is when others make and error he shouts and screams at them. He knocked on twice yesterday and didn't put his hand up once to acknowledge it.

Here’s me thinking taking the two was perfect tactics. Put them Two scores up at half time- going down the tunnel happy whereas If they'd gone for the try and not got it it they’d have gone down the tunnel gutted and confidence would have dropped.

Unlike a number is supporters on this forum, I don't believe that the answer to the Giants problems is to get rid of Danny Brough. He has been and still is one of our best players. Certainly, the most passionate. The problem is that we haven't a quality half back to play alongside him. Danny plays well, the team plays well. If he has an off day, which all players do, there is no one in the team capable of taking over. I'm afraid neither Rankin or Gaskill are the answer. The team did look good when Martin Ridyard played alongside him last season.

Spot on that Brough much better when he’s not trying to do everything I thought Ridyard was class a much better goal kicker and took all the pressure off Brough

Given he just turned thirty five, the harsh truth is that are no questions to which Danny Brough is the answer.

was actually quite refreshing watching turner in the halves today, someone who can pass a ball wide.

rankin isnt looking like hes the one for us im afraid, always a worry for this season with new half back pairing and its now worked again like brough/brierley , brough/gaskell

Turner looks better in halves as he’s so out of shape he can catch and pass while at centre he’s required to do more work

He does look to be carrying bad weight. Looks far more creative than Rankin though. Rankin really is very poor at half back, and when combined with an ageing Brough it's no wonder we have zero creativity on the pitch. It is a rather large hole we are in now. We do have some good players but noone has the vision to use them.

I'd like to see Brough and Turner in the halves. Problem is moving Turner leaves us light in the centre's. Mamo is a good player but because of his injuries has been poor value for money. If an NRL side were interested in him I'd let him go and use the money to to bring in a quality half back.

I don't think an NRL side will be, they hate players that are suspect defensively and sadly Mamo is one of those. He's made for the english game and the more broken style of play but he has shown up badly in the poorer conditions. I think if he were fit at the start of last year instead of making his debut when the ground had firmed up noone would have a good opinion of him.

For me id like to see us try line up like this when everyone is fit.

There’s no way you can play McIntosh at FB. His catching is worth three tries a match to the opposition.

Mamo is exactly the same though. He cost us tries against Hull,Wakefield and Saints due to knocking on, just before half time in 2 of the games. We need to give McIntosh an extended run for me and see how he goes. Mamo is fairly quick and im sure would finish quite a few tries on the wing and make many metres coming in also.

How many spiralling bombs did Mackintosh take perfectly against Leeds under pressure??? He was fantastic against Leeds- a young kid who’s not played for weeks and then plays two in three days and you get on his back!!! Think there a more senior players who you should be demanding be dropped first!

He dropped one- Mamo drops theee a game and can’t/won’t pass for toffee but he’s the messiah according to a large number of our clueless.

There's some fickle people on here. McIntosh was superb at full back on Friday. Dealt with some very difficult balls. Had a poor game today and some have written him off. We need to be patient with the younger players, give them game time to enable them to develop.

Fans are going to turn on young players quick it’s not right but we ain’t saints Leeds or Wigan who can carry a few young lads having a good game 1 week and poor game next because we ain’t got the senior player to carry them the position we are in now we can’t afaid to bed in young players

Sadly, the club doesn’t have the time to be patient with younger players.

People wanted the structure changed to bring “jeopardy”. Fine, but the flip side of that is younger players don’t get the time to make mistakes. They need to perform. The middle eights are upon us sooner than you think

Macintosh had a mare today, but he looked absolutely knackered, and clearly everything he did was affected by fatigue. Guess that's easter when you got a thin squad and most of them are injured. I personally would play rankin at full back seen as he sure as hell aint a halfback, mamo and jerry on wings , Macintosh im not really sure , cover at the moment i would say but he's got the potential to be good enough.
