| i think that pretty much confirms us for middles 8s now been realistic
looking at our fixtures im struggling to see a win for us in the next few games been honest which is dissapointing
think it definitely is time for Anderson to go now and think he will if we lose to cas, look what its done for the wakefield side?
genuinely think davy should get rid of thewlis as well
what really is a massive concern for me is the amount of breaks and tries we conceed now been down our opponents try line

| I didn't see any lack of effort today, just a lack of ideas , we were so slow and predictable at the play the ball we myt as well have sent them a copy of our play book, that is if we have one. We seem to panic trying so hard to score on every play, and just general passing seems in slow motion at times. Salfords first half line defence was good and the difference between the sides today for me , most of there try's we gifted them really. Think akuma was our best player with jerry a close second. So where do we go from here then ?

Your right , there was no particular lack of effort today but it was wasted to a great extent by a lack of skill, Still there was some positives Brough had a good game ( It will be a sad day for the Giants if he really is on his way ) Tai played well as did as Jerry. The most positive thing was that Brierley backed up every single half chance of a line break, If ever we get a forward who can offload there will be lot's of tries to be had. To be honest it was better than I was expecting.
As for where we go from here, I don't know. It's hard to see what PA can do to sort things, I would love to see us get another N Brown from somewhere, Obviously not up to me, So It's just wait and see, keep turning up till you can't stick any more I suppose.

The fat lady might be warming up, but she's not singing yet.
Catalans lost 12 last year and made the 8. We've lost 6 so far. But it needs to be turned around sharpish. Realistically we need to win ten of the remaining matches to have a shout of being in the 8.

Hmm.
The problems at the club are much deeper than the first team IMO.
4,000 there today. Just not acceptable. If I were the boss I'd want senior bods in first thing tomorrow with a full report on why they failed to sell anything close to breakeven.
Is anybody actually responsible for getting people in to watch the Giants? Do they have any kind of plan? Or do they just hope for the best?
The club is going backwards.

Agreed, but success breeds support, we only need look at Bradford Bulls who, during Bull mania were regularly pulling 11k crowds and now, well let's say that people voted with their feet.
Success is the key to our crowd problem. Folk are fickle, the true fan Base are the people that turn out week in week out right now.

It's the folk who do the moaning who aren't turning up- then moan about results.
Look at what happened when Wigan found themselves in relegation trouble- fans got BEHIND the team and crowds went UP. And before we get the, yes but they've been successful brigade, Cas fans did the same. A far cry from what happens at our club.

Marketing team had been cut from 9 to 2 in the last few years - the club simply cannot afford it !
But it doesn't stop people who won't go cos we're crap moaning about it !!
Feel for the marketing team though as their hands are tied but get stick because they aren't visible enough.

So as ever It's yet again the fans fault, It's nothing at all to do with the club or the way it's run. It's nothing to do with the coaching of P Anderson and the lack or skills that have resulted in that, It's the same old story. The club and the players are punching above their weight, but they are being let down by the people of Huddersfield.
The club made great headway under N Brown, yes I know it all went pear shaped, but he improved our players no end, all that is now gone and we are back to the J sharp days, That's not the peoples fault.
It's not just this season, some of us have been saying it for a long time. It would be nice if PA was the best coach in the game, but he just doesn't seem to have it.
And what about the hiring and firing, It's been shambolic at best, Is that also the fault of the fans.

| Playing Devil's advocate to a degree
I wonder about this HGSA thing. I'm sure meast, Daz and jools are all members. Fair play to you etc etc. but...... Do you think it's possible that you're maybe more tolerant than you should be by virtue of some club faces paying lip service to you? I don't mean to offend you guys but.... Look at the league table. Look at the crowd numbers. Yes, we've been unlucky but what about contingency and planning for worst case scenario? Is poor fitness 'unlucky' or 'lack of due diligence'?
We are talking here about a business team who have had 3 or 4 seasons of pretty high achievement on which they have failed to capitalise. We have been through this old routine a few times but I'll repeat anyway.... The fans are the CUSTOMER. You know what they say about customers. If I were in that business team I would be looking over my shoulder big time.
And before we start, I don't want to hear about not being able to afford to market the club - if that's the case, call it a day because I would rather have my head lobbed off than die the death of a thousand cuts. It's also garbage.

That's a bit harsh Durham I'm sure Jools wants the best for the club like us all but in your defence this forum is to debate all sensible opinions to which supporters are entitled loyalty to the club yes but blind loyalty no in a performance management arena the club are failing at the moment and part of the process should be to analyse it and change plan if that's what's required

Crowds are falling year on year - from 7,500 a few years back to 5,900 now.
In 1998, we were dead last in SL and average 5,400. Just 500 less than last year.
For comparison, in the same time Northampton Saints RU have near on tripled their crowds.
The club cannot afford not to spend money on marketing. It has to or it will die.

I know loads of people who only know the Giants are playing because I tell them they are. It's not my job to sell the club. If they want me to do it, they should hire me. I'd shake the place up for sure, but I'm very expensive. They couldn't afford me. And they wouldn't like the changes I'd make to their cosy world.

No one says they aren't trying but the systems in place aren't working is the systems or the players skill sets probably a mixture of both but it's up to PA and KP to fix it and the players and coaches should bother because they are getting well paid and it's their job !!

More common sense, What's happening to the board.
You do tend to get the feeling that the attitude is "Keep your head down, keep dipping your bread in the gravy, it will pass in time". There are some well paid people who are not delivering, and would not have a job in many businesses.
