It is good that we are signing Championship players to give them an opportunity in SL.

Good news, another young british player! (unlike some clubs ..for example HULL kr) already gained SL experience with the bulls and would have had more if not been for the broken leg.

we paid a fee for him (so those again asking where the extra sky money is going ..here you go)

19 and represented England at youth level, look forward to seeing him develop into a top SL player with us!

Heard good stuff about this kid, hopefully he will be an asset to us and money well spent.

I've heard good things about him, what concerns me ever so slightly is that we have just signed up youngster mikey wood who plays loose forward and also Dickinson and Johnson who are both capable of playing at 13, hope they don't miss out

think roberts played prop for Bradford too.

will be interesting to see which youngster is next to break through to the first team following on from connor, leeming and johnson.

He’s a bit small for prop. Definitely back row material at the moment.

Loves a dig at hull kr this lad maybe if you went to craven park and saw the great support they get you'd jump ship to there too like hodgson walker Eden Horne and Lunt ... All English them lads too

Genuine question this - What's the big deal about signing or producing British players?

I mean at Wigan we produce more than most, but it doesn't give you any extra points when the game kicks off.

I never understand this attitude that signing local lads is best. I just like to see good players play for Wigan, and I don't really mind where they come from.

When Blake Green goes back to Aussie next year we will replace him with a Wigan trainee. All very laudable. But most Wigan fans would rather see a like for like replacement.

Can't wait for you to have a couple of defeats then moan in the season about quality signings not been made to much youth etc. On the Kr dig- Dixon, donaldson, mccarthy, Goulding all signed and English. Hallet, green, ollet,gudzeck, cox, carlile, walker and salter all under 25, english and first team squad. Then lets not forget the over 25 Englishmen such as cockayne, welham etc. But you have a really valid point there.

due to us having no fans, we can't afford quality big name signings like everyone else, we also put a lot of faith in our system in developing players rather than just buying them.

it also gives the fans ( or lack of them) something to feel proud about when half the team have been developed by our club rather than another club, to answer the wigan fan, who surely must take immense pride in their system of developing local players, and rightly so!

thought the same, obviously thrown in at prop when you was lacking players at that time.

we are trying to catch up with the aussies, best way to do this is by playing our young british players at the highest level, its a shame a lot wont get the chance to gain experience and show what they can do due to an overseas import being infront of them.

now relegation is back on the agenda, it seems to are the imports, shame as it seemed to be going the right way, at least some clubs are still trying to improve the UK game and help build the international game, the world cup proved there is an appetite for it.

Our current squad. Cockayne dixon,walker,carlile,goulding,hopefully myler and lunt all british, welham,salter horne,cox,green,ollett,esslemont,guzdek,hallett,robinson all currently in our squad,all played s/l, marsh and holker in the squad and all came through our system,richard horne,john wilkin also josh hodgson,scott taylor,and dont forget we were the last club to join s/l in 2007 and IMO we have done ok.
Now about your lack of support bearing in mind ken davey virtually gives you a season pass and a lot of your players came through your system,which you say is what is wanted,why the lack of support for a reasonably successful side ?

None of the hornes came through at kr neither did Hodgson, you must be a SL era kr supporter only, as you don't seem to remember that far back, or unless your real name is Nemo?

Ah one of the chuckle brothers has appeared,correct me if iam wrong but didnt both the hornes start at east hull along with wilkin,and didnt we turn hodgson who couldnt get a game in your fantastic side into an international ?

Does buying kids from Bradford cas Halifax Leeds and wakey count as developing players in Huddersfield ?? Only eorl from Huddersfield
