might make this a regular one. After watching Salford v HKR full of Giants current and ex.

Gerg Eden absolutely great attacking play. Scored two tries set two up although he bombed one in the last five minutes when he held on to the ball instead of passing it wide.

BUT was dreadful in defence got stripped and gave Salford an easy try and a couple of weak tackles that allowed Salford to score.

Stephen Wild the usual non stop tackling performance.

Griffin did nothing

Hodgson got a good try for HKR. Fergy tackled well and unlucky not to score. IMHO better than Cording and Fairbank. Would like him back. Carlisle nearly scored a cheeky try like he did at MM a couple of years ago.

Adam Walker did ok till the last 21 seconds. Sent off!!!!

Not sure i would count taking four good punches and missing with his own was OK.

Should have just been yellow though.

ferguson looks to be going well for them...and they want to keep him, like durham says id have him in for cording or fairbank..gives taai more time too to get fit.

just wondering if Eden might make a better half back than full back. got a good eye for the game, good passing game and looked very sharp in attack against salford.

his deffence on the other hand... he got the ball ripped from him on his own try line, cant be making mistakes like that at full back

I suggested Eden at 6 last year when he was struggling in defence but got told to shurrup as he wasn't good enough !.

i will be nice to see liam fulton playing for wests again from next week , nice to see an ex fartown laddie playing well in the nrl

Eden was good and bad against Salford. No disrespect to Salford but his tries wouldn't have been so easy to score against top 8 opposition yet he'd still have made those mistakes and probably more due to the attack and defense being quicker off the mark from a higher club. There's no doubt he has some talent but that's outweighed by his mistakes at the moment.

From the game the key thing is whether his positional sense is getting better to deal with kicks etc.

It stil seems like an area that work needs to be done but after another 20 to 30 games should improve.

If they get to the playoffs i think we can judge if he has improved. or not

see eden went quite well for hull kr and had a hand in a few tries...but we know he can do this so no surprise

also what wasnt a surprise was his mistakes!!!! aslong as he can get more experience and iron them out by the time he comes back to us that will be fine

His attack is immense, but the silly mistakes and positional play was a bit poor. Same old it seems but still a great prospect!

Kev Brown debuted but limped off with an ankle injury. Not good for him or Widnes, but glad he's not on our injury list.

I agree . Was pleased to see him playing again and really felt for him when he did his ankle. It is the same one he has just had operated on.

A good player and decent bloke by all accounts i really hope he comes back soon.

Eden gifted all 3 Cas tries. His catching and passing skills were apalling.

The commentators all made the point that the role of the full back is first and foremost to catch and return the ball and organise the defence.

At the minute Eden can do neither. It was the right decision to let him go IMHO.

Yes watched it and it was evident we have made the correct decision on him for where we were and are.
This year is about starting a fresh putting the slump of last year behind us. For this we need to be defensively sound and this is Grix, once we have a greater confidence we can implement more risk taking. Eden is great at times but not consistent enough!

Is he playing for nz warriors? Was a quality player when he linked games together just couldn't keep injury free

he plays for newcastle , he started on the bench but moore who plays for the cowboys started at 12 ..mr faalogo was much the better of the 2 as an attacking force..3rd best metres run in the match, only beaten by uate and cuthbertsen

aye noticed faalogo came up against moore...

we know what faalogo can do but was the right decision to let him go at the end of his stint here.

Jon Molloy has been released by Salford. Apparently he has some injury from the time he was at the Giants. Not sure what has happened but feel sorry for him.
