We looked like a team again today,playing for each other and the coach!
I thought we looked particularly efficient at the PTB,maybe coincidence that moore wasn't playing and we got some good go forward, defensively we looked good again particularly our scramble defence and put some big hits on the big french forwards.
Our forwards looked up for the challenge again and chan was very good again and gilly looked decent for once,bit disappointed with the ref he looked out of his depth again
but with most players in positions they are used to we looked a lot more organised,lets hope the confidence is back and we can put the last 2 months behind us

Settled team, playing the way they know how

Two things were clear today

1. They wanted to play, more than they have done in weeks
2. They had confidence in themselves and each other to be on the end of a play, no one was trying to do everything themselves - or not even trying

key point + playing a big forward at 13 not an extra half back stopped us being bossed down the middle.

Only 2 recognised props though.

Today just made a mockery of the last 3 months.

People saying Grix started shockingly - yes he kicked a ball straight into touch - as did Brough.

There wasn't a weak link out there today despite gifting them their 3 tries.

As well as Gilly, Doof played his best fro some weeks now.

Fuey was excellent, I thought. Robbo's darting was a great improvement.

Bruno certainly tightened things up down the middle.

Started to look good for the run-in - and the Grand Final!!!

Catalans weren't at their best for the first hour, but still needed putting away. They play a narrow defence which was quickly spotted by the Giants' playmakers who proceeded to make the pitch as wide as possible with kicks and quick passing from one side to the other, so full credit for that. And from there on it was a case of controlling the game, which I thought the Giants did very well. It might be exactly what the Giants needed.

What disappointed me most from a Dragons point of view were the two tries that were conceded on the back of penalties given away for dissent whilst in possession - utterly unforgiveable - and Vincent Duport getting a case of the drops twice when he was already over the line.

I think we've missed mcgilvary and the threat he can do on the wing! Great winger and still young

Great finisher and does some impressive work up the middle. I like the boy.

I've been thinking for a week or so that what the Giants desperately needed was a slice of luck to kick start their self belief

When Duport dropped the ball over the line I thought then that it was the moment I had been waiting for. The Giants never looked back from that moment and didnt really let the Catalans back into it - what was great to see was scrambling defence that wouldnt have bothered last week.

And I think with a VR at the game, they would have had their last try dissalowed - I am sure Blanche knocked on when he contested the ball - effectivly knocking it out of Murphy's hands

Also can not see the logic of why people at any club stay away just because its Catalans they are a top side and play open expansive rugby so would think most home fans would but their visit above seeing their team play Cas, Salford, Bradford or whoever.

Perhaps all season ticket holders who weren't on holiday did attend? 5800 out of our total would seem about right. It's the casuals who wouldn't have attended.

Just a thought.

Already showing much better structure on attack.Praise must go to PA & KP for achieving that in such a short space of time.Best I've seen from Broughy in terms of playmaking just about ever.

In fact would go so far as to say if Grix would have got the ball wide to Eden coming on the sweep more often,rather than taking a more safe option of stepping back inside himself or hitting a front runner we would have scored a lot more points.Not a criticism of Grix, it was a much improved performance from him than what has gone before.

And Catalans are no mugs as the table shows.
