3. Cudjoe showed he is outstanding, truly outstanding

4. First half we looked like a well balanced, powerful team that could almost break their line at will

5. We have incredible pace on the outside

So all in all, while I was equally livid/distraught/frustrated as everyone else - I can see that the team is one capable of good things. If we retain the ball better, we will win games. Its that simple.

Crabtree and Mason were destroying them in the first half, they couldn't handle Cudjoe all game, Grix's running in broken play was nothing short of superb

We were let down by a string of handling errors in the last 30 minutes - but hey, if you lot want to sit there all doom and gloom, its your party. Me, I am going to say the positive things I saw in that game and have some faith that we can and will end on a bit of a high.

Good Article. I came away on Sunday fuming and very downbeat but after time to reflect I think some of that was down to some deep down hope that somehow we were going to turn it all around simply by changing coaches. I think Sunday demonstrated how much this is a confidence issue and how fragile that confidence is. Yes some players need to move on and we need some new blood but I don't think a revolution is needed.
Baloo will clearly be working on their confidence and as that improves so will our results.
Main positives for me were Mason and Chan looking like they were running into some form and Faribank getting some more minutes under his belt.

Don't agree code 13, often clueless in attack, especially last tackle options when we got there! Moore first time in first half, going from marker, just brainless. I fear we won't win another game and confidence will be shot for start of next season. Deep psychological damage that won't disappear! Am in despair actually.

Chan and mason made less than 7 metres a carry- not great forward stats- but no worse than any other of our forwards.
Mason did a lot more work defensively than of late a definite positive. Bobby was a complete workhorse.

We need some more like Jacob fairbank in pack asap....tacklers!!!!

we score more points than in the last 2 previous game, but on a serious note i think that this is a case of just ending the season all the people that are leaving go and then anderson can build his team have a pre season and a fresh start for next season.

I posted something similar but it got lost in the ether & I couldn't be bothered to rewrite it.

Someone said that Grix couldn't catch for toffee. He didn't drop one ball. Granted he was a tad slow in getting to one, but he made it safe by kicking it into touch. His open play was excellent - what was missing were the forwards running off him.

Mason had his best game for many months.

We were in total control for 60/65 minutes. We did lack attacking ideas.

Then the last quarter of an hour came.....

It's no wonder our forwards don't make any meters they are constantly taking the ball stood still form a really slow pass. They should be 10 metres back and running onto the ball with pace. If they're not stood still they are taking the ball at second or third receiver and the defense is in their faces. It's no wonder Gilly keeps dropping the ball, pretty much every time he receives a pass he is hit by the defence almost immediately. The whole problem is made worse by the fact that every single team in the league moves up in defence quicker than us. Our line speed is non-existent. This isn't a new problem though we've been doing it for our entire time in Superleague.

Mason and Eorl were fantastic going forward yesterday, with two more out and out props our pack wouldn't get bullied anywhere near as much as it has been this season. Although Patrick may be considered a prop these days, people need to remember he is another second rower turned prop and from what I saw on Sunday he looks to be carrying an injury, his arm was very heavily strapped.

Fairbank and Cording both gave 100%.

For me we now need to leave the spine of the team to settle and build some confidence.

Apart from 2009 and 2010 where our defence was outstanding?

One point though is that we do not make many diagonal runs but just keep moving forward in a straight line. Wakey caused us a few problems with their running late in second half and I knew we were in for a torrid second half.

My suggestion is that we need to be more creative in the backs and use the talent we have wisely

poor crowd though i though 6500, the fans have deserted us...to be expected the way things have gone though..certainly wont help next years season ticket sales

Confidence (or lack of it) played a huge part I believe, but I still think you will get that back with a few games for Anderson to work with the team. Doesn't help that your next 2 matches are against Saints and Catalans though, although a good performance or a win against one of those and you could be right back in the hunt.
Seen it at Belle Vue many times, when on a bad run (quite a regular occurence) you think things are going OK, then one or two things go against you and the confidence just visibly drains out of the players.


For me Jason Chan was probably your MOTM, thought he was awesome most of the time.
