Whilst the "Giants" is now well established as the club name --many of the longstanding fans have an affinity for FARTOWN still!!--and many fond memories of the old Mecca

Also I know many former players have been asked if they would be willing to part (for payment) with one of their traditional club shirts with the broad claret and narrow gold stripes

Many of these lads only played for one club at the shirt means a lot more to them than many of today`s players who often finish their career having played for 5 or more clubs along the way

But the players association are hoping to get replica shirts of "old" made and if any supporters are interested make these available to fans
The hope is to keep costs as low as possible --which will depend obviously on "demand" --and as such its a chicken and egg situation

There has been quite a few fans contact me regarding this initiative on a tentative basis and I also have some who`ve made a deposit ( returnable if it doesnt happen) which places them on a "first come" -"first served" list but anyone else seriously interested please PM me asap so that the price can be kept as competitive as possible.

The idea is purely to try satisfy a "demand" and not a money spinner and the players committee are trying to achieve a selling price of around £35 maximum -it could be less but it all comes down to "numbers"
In addition --the aim is to get these sorted asap for the oncoming season so --IF YOURE INTERESTED GET IN TOUCH AND ILL LET YOU HAVE MORE DETAILS
There are two possible fabrics available at different prices and samples are being sent so that we hopefully get the best for the job wear wise /price / "summer rugby" and when someone shows me how to work these damn PC things - I`ll post a piccie of the "prototype" OK??

I wonder if this cold beheld in abeyance until February when the Lottery will announce its decision as to whether it will fund the club's heritage bid. If successful, then there more than likely will be a heritage shirt with the full blessing of the club. It is envisaged that there will be a match where the heritage shirt will be worn.

So, another couple of months, please?

It will be available for supporters to buy. I'll be pushing for it to be made available ASAP after the decision has been made by the Lottery Fund.
