Exactly. I said the club and the players knew who the coach was and it would be either Brown or Anderson.

A new coach would have new ideas and would not be tying down players before he had chance to assess the team.

A player would be reluctant to sign if he did not know who the coach was as he may not fit into a new coaches plans.

A couple of the recently announced signings had been completed weeks ago, long before NB had made his mind up. Also most players are signing up for 3 or more years while NB is doing one more year. I think there is recognition by the players that the Giant are a quality club.

That said I am sure this announcment will massivey boost the players and everyone can now focus on silverware in 11 and 12..the best way to help get NB a head coach job in the NRL.

After the sky game versus saints the commentators were certain that NB's non committal comments actually meant he was off to Oz!

Several players have signed 3/4 even 5 (Eorl?) year deals when they cannot assume they will have just the one coach. I think there is a confidence that the club are not going to bring in a duff coach. FWIW I would expect Baloo to take over (and if the players expect this it may explain their long term confidence)

There wil be on hell of a party when we win that pot!!!

Great news for you this. What a great coach Nathan Brown really is! Hopefully now that he has commited to the club, you can really push on and get to the Grand Final. I honestly think you have what it takes this year to go all the way. Well, hope you do!
