| some fans do not give him credit for what he does so i feel we should redress the balance today.
His two tries today were excellent.
His first cutting in from the wing showed great balance and awareness beating 3 men and his second being in the right place to gather a kick showed great skill and experience. added to his defensive work and running the ball out showed what a good player he is.
it is not all about great speed and straight running.

| Come on, what's scoring tries, ecellent defensive work, great positional play, & running the ball out got to do with being a winger?
Come on, get a grip lads. He only scored twice today.

| he's rubbish!
not good enough for super league
past his sell by date
keeping hot prospects out of the team
he offers nothing to the team
only scores easy tries
can't pass
can't tackle
can't catch
can't run
blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
good job some of us on here understand the game eh!

| Scored 2 great tries, is a top class finisher and defensively is very good although think Lawrence is not creating enough for Hodgson. I like Hodgson and he works real hard to give the forwards a rest, only criticism from today was when he ran the ball out seemed to go more sideways than normal whereas Jermaine ran straight and hard (ala Hodgson normal game) and gained more meters. Time run out for Lawrence IMO time for stint in reserves to get his confidence back up to where it needs to be for a SL player

| I thought Brunos try today was a beaut. Took a lot of scoring and needed a big man to do it. seemed to go through a lot of tackles to score it

Agree, it was a great try and had to beat a few to score it, certainly no easy run in, and a game winner with the scores level.

| Don't think there's anything wrong with Bruno's confidence TBH. The pass he threw out of the back that went to touch; he has to be confident to do something like that. It didn't come off though.
He's almost a victim of his superb defence. People write off his attacking qualities because he's so solid in defence but he has a threat with ball in hand and helps out running the ball from deep as well. He played just as well as Leroy today IMO, better even.

| I agree took both tries well today but let two others in, Ive said it before as much as he scores he lets in! if he cuts that out and gets a bit shaper next to our line then he will get my vote to keep his position.

| He came out of position for Hulls second try because he didnt trust Brough on the inside?!?! So....
His first try was good, took some finishing, second was a superb Brough kick, i think we could do worse than Hodgson, but i also think we could do alot better, its the fumbles in games like cas that scare me

| cant believe he actually scored his first try like that today normally has to walk them in
second try was a beautifully weighted kick from brough.
rest of the match hodgson was running sideways..and almost threw the game away with stupid pass that the ref had to duck out of the way for!! if that hit the ref hull would of picked up and scored!
well done for getting the two tries but cut out the fumbles and run straight
have we to start a thread everytime a player scores two tries now? should of done one for mcgillvary last week

| the two hull tries came down hodgsons side of the field
and the third, what got wiped off for offside, was also due to hodgson failing to deal with the ball being kicked towards him.
often kicks are targeted towards him, is it just a coincedence or do oppositon coaches also see him as a weak link

| Again showed just what an asset he is to the team - 2 top class finishes and looks like he's going to be there or thereabouts as top try scorer again......but hey the fact he's scored 48 tries in 66 games for us already doesn't mean he's any good .....of course any average player has that sort of record !!
ATEOTD he's one of those players who's face just doesn't seem to fit with some of our fans who cannot or refuse to see what a player of his calibre offers the team ! maybe they wont be happy until we get a proper winger who scores 75 80 metre tries a season !!

| Two excellent finishes. Especially first one as he loads to do to score it, but he is good from standing start and can be elusive.
And that's why he should alway be in the team, but he could learn from grixy how to defuse a bomb. . .as opposition use that play against us a lot as our defence is very strong pretty much everywhere else, so it is an obvious play for them.
Ps thought mcgiv looked safe under high balls too

Without sounding like I have some sort or agenda against Dodge (which I don’t, he is in our team and I will always give a chance to anyone wearing the claret and gold). Is it really all about scoring trys?! For example, Kevin Penny, Shaun Ainscough and Karl Pryce, these three spring to mind as having a great try scoring record, but would any of you have them in your team? I dont think so, defensively they are poor, make too many errors, and with the exception of Pryce are poor under the high ball. Hodgson for me is similar, he is good, but for the money he will be on you would want him to be brilliant, like Pat Richards, I think he is ok dont get me wrong, but is he really any better than one of our exciting youngsters? Fair play praising people after a good game, Hodgson took his tries well, but he was also at fault for another one, and was lucky that Hull had another down his side disallowed for offside, i dont get all the praise over someone scoring two tries, one a walk in. Brough set up three tries and has hardly got a mention?! Just my opinion

| Have to partly agree with fro nips on this one.
I dont think anyone can knock his effort and attacking skills but for me his defensive skills are his downfall. He may score 2 tries in a game but he's likley to conceed as many as he scores. I cringe wherever a ball is kicked towards him and it is only down to the fact he has has a good defensive centre to his right that we havent conceeded more tries down or left side!
Who would I rather see on the wing? Jerry and Leroy to be honest and if Simpson is going to come into the squad I think David could be in for a nervous time. I'd much rather see a backline of Grix, Jerry, Bruno, Simpson and Leroy.
