3 for Keith, 1 for Darrell
Keith Mason was given a three-match ban while fellow front rower Darrell Griffin was suspended for one game and both were fined £300 when they appeared before the Rugby Football League's disciplinary committee.

| Correct decision with Mason.
A bit harsh on Darrell Griffin and Stuart Fielden.

I would like to see the specifics before i would agree with that.
Ablett takes a player out right in the mush, tansey a spear tackle both of which were in my mind a lot more serious than Masons yet one gets the same ban and the other less.
Bailey who i felt with his raised Knee which was as bad and more dangerous than masons stamp gets gets nothing.
It is the lack of consistency that concerns me

Think it was malice in as much as he was looking for a reaction, as opposed as trying to seriously injure him.
Although I agree with a ban, as it really was unecessary.

I would have thought Mason as got 2 games for the stamp and 1 for running in in an aggressive way!
They could have quite easily given Fielden and Mason sin bin sufficient but because Griffin didnt go they would probably have to ban him which then would have made the punishments lobsided! If Griffin had been sin binned then dont think any of them would be banned!
They tried putting Lawrence up for his part but couldnt find a section that says you cant hide behind your team and try to tickle the opposition!!

No he could not. he put no weight on it it was just winding him up.
That well known Huddersfield fan and Wigan hater Phil Clarke said on SKY he would have been lucky to damage his sock.
On that basis everyone who gives a facial to a tackled player should be banned for 3 games because they could BLIND an opponent, or sledging should get a 3 game ban in case the player is deafened or emotionally scarred.

He put no weight on it? he stamped on his ankle, he lined his leg up and stamped on it, if stuarts ankle had of twisted awkwardly it could of broken his ankle. It probably wouldnt of, but it could of.
Lets be honest, if someone had done that to one of your players then you defiantly wouldnt be sat there saying that.

He stood on it, if he had have stamped on it you might have had a point, and Fielden probably would have broken his ankle.
But he didnt.

| yeah cos that does happen week in and week out from players across the game does it.
If we started doing that there would be no forwards left in the game.
And pretty few halfbacks too.

Funny that nothing much has been said by the Wigan fans about Sam Tomkins deliberate stamp on Faolog`s hand at exactly ( 16.37 ) game time.
I have sent an email to sky sports ( boots`n`all ) but it probably will not get air time due to the Wigan biased presenters.
If any more email in about it they might think it worth mentioning.

What a load of codswallop.
Ablett's hit wasn't as bad as Mason's trample. Tansey's tackle WAS worse. Ablett's ban, for a player as clean as he, was perhaps 1 too many. Mason, for a player as dirty as he, is lucky not to have got more. Tansey should have got 4+ in my opinion.
Mason deserves all three matches, and I would hope any appeal would see an extra match added on due to the blatantness of the incident, and a urine-extracting frivolous appeal.
Bailey should maybe have got 1 match based on his past record, but it was NOWHERE near as bad as Mason.
Quote ="Durham Giant"No he could not. he put no weight on it it was just winding him up.'"
He put enough on. And even so, it's a disgraceful act, anything of this ilk should be (pardon the pun) stamped out. If a player feels he has to do this, or perform a chicken-wing tackle, or grab a player by the balls to try and gain some "advantage", they don't deserve our great game, and aren't welcome.

Nothing much said by Sky or the RFL/Disciplinary either. Or maybe your club didn't see anything in the incident and didn't consider it worthy of reporting?

He keeps his face in a funny place, being in the middle of his chest and all.
It was a fraction late, every Wigan fan said so, it wasn't high, and the penalty was sufficient.
