Widdop would be nice but is inexperienced. The other two, no ta. Lockyer is older than Brett IIRC and Hohaia suspect under the high ball IMO.

I'd go with Leroy and sign a winger - assuming McGilivary's [sp defence isn't up to SL standard.

Owen has complications with his broken leg, apparently the wound has become infected. Fitzpatrick is IMO not up to it at the upper level of SL.

We may as well stick with Cudjoe than Fitzpatrick IMO. Owen, well, he would have to prove his fitness first. Browny like his FB's to be involved in the ball play as well and I'm not sure Owen could do that.

33 tries in 70 games for Owen suggests otherwise. I'm sure the healthcare that he has will give him access to basic antibiotics to stop and cure any infection.

Not seen anything of young Widdop but he is a Halifax lad originally so if he did want to come back over here we may have a chance but i would imagine he will stay in Australia.

Lockyer is too old and is a stand off now not a full back.

Aye he does look tiday but it would surely put Leroy's nose out of joint unless Brown discusses the merits of him becoming a winger permanently. Leroy seems to have his heart set on FB though.

We do not need a replacement FB Cudjoe should now be given his chance, and l mean NOW, we also have back up long term in Elliott Hodgson, short term in David Hodgson, and Grix, lf we are to replace Brett with another Overseas player which l am sure we will, l would go for a prop, , or winger.
RE the likes of Lockyer, it would be great for the club, raise our profile and put bums on seats, which at present is a concern, although he is nocking on the halfbacks dont get as much stick as a FB, the downside would be that Kevin Brown, one of our most improved players this season would probably be a casualty, so l would rather we pass on Locky. We do need a high profile replacement. l think we are sure to get one. Who????

I know our crowds don't seem to be significantly up this season but I reckon our revenue from the crowds will be.

So not all doom and gloom in that regard IMO.

Cudjoe is going to be a great full back.

Much more urgent need for a Winger.

Amos Roberts would be first choice.

You all seem to forget that Scott Grix has played at full back for many clubs including Leigh, Widnes and Wakefield. Could be the obvious replacement as has a good passing game, likes to attack, good defence and also a kicking game. simularities to a certain Australian that is due to leave at the end of the season apart from the goal kicking averages?

When you look at Cudjoe, Grix, E.Hodgson being with us you'd think if we were to recruit externally it would have to be a hell of a signing.

Brough and Cudjoe would be ahead of him kicking the goals though.

Wadski, I never said that Scott Grix would take over the goal kicking duty, just that he has many qualities which are similar to our departing Australian full back. If Grix had similar stats to Brett Hodgson’s conversion rates, then he would obviously go in front of the 2 you mention. He doesn’t and so you are right, with our current squad members, Brough before Cudjoe would probably be the order of kicking duty.

I know what you said - I was agreeing with you and saying that it didn't necessarily matter that he didn't kick the goals as both/one of those would be on the park at the time anyhow.

I would also like to see us try this "two fullback" method Warrington used earlier in the season.

I would like to see Cudjoe given a chance as first choice full back for the rest of the season.

He's at Wigan for another 2 years after this season and on current form, is likely to stay here.

Shame for you guys to lose Hodgson, he's been nothing but class for you men. I think you need to replace him with quality.

If a player of Brett Hodgson's class is here until the end of the season then it would be crazy not to use him.
Leroy will still get some game time at fullback as he has done already and it will be very interesting to see how he handles the next few games against Warrington and Wigan but if Hodgson is fit then he has to play.

Leroy has four games to prove himself at Full back and to make that berth is own. It will be against top teams in high pressure situations. If he does well the job is his and we will then be looking at signing a winger and a centre for next year.

If not then he will be back on the wing and we will either be giving Dodgy or Grix the job and still signing a winger.

I am not convinced about Leroy at the minute as a full back. At Salford i thought he was very poor (along with others) but his mistakes i felt were quite basic ie dropping high kicks and poor positional play.

I have been wrong before ie K Brown who i thought would be a better centre. Hopefully Leroy will make me admit being wrong in the future about him being our answer to the Full back role..

surely we should be looking no further than our own leroy cudjoe?
are fitzpatrick and own ( no disrespect) better than leroy?
not to mention elliott hodgson,im sure he should be given his chance like leroy/bruno/lunt/larne etc now?

No need to sign a Fullback IMO - we have 2 very highly rated youngsters of our own that can replace Brett - we do however need to sign a class winger to replace Leroy going to FB !

cudjoe has the next four games to really make the full back position his own... he has his heart set on playing full back for the giants.

that leaves the wing for next season up for grabs... would like to see macgillvary given a chance, he deserves it with his performances on loan at batley at barrow.

if brown doesnt want to go with macgillvary then i think the money will go on a big wing signing

i personally feel we need another prop though, short in this position at the beginning of the season.. not convinced yet raleigh and patrick are the answer as first choice props.. we need a puletua !!
