Hudds have finally announced the signing of  Aaron murphy with andy Raleigh and Danny kirmond going the other way-
 andy Raleigh is a good solid defender And I'm sorry to see him go, kirmond never got back to his best after his last stint at wakey though. 
Having said that is murphy any better than wardle? Certainly not better than leroy and we are now even weaker at the front in an area I and others felt needed bolstering

I think he seems like a good cover for Grix at FB.

Maybe thats due to not playing regular 1st team rugby,I personally think he is a better player than Furguson who i think is one of NBs faves,Also don't think Andy & Danny was part of the deal with Murphy i think the both wanted to leave to play regular 1st team rugby,Best wishes to them both.

Not overly happy about this TBH...Andy and Danny were both big assets to our squad on their day and to swap them both for a young lad who's played all his SL rugby in a poor side seems a bit silly to me....nowt against Murphy i hope he kicks on for us.....

Thanks to Andy and Danny though for their efforts in getting this club where it is now, all the best fellas !!

As far as i am concerned you cannot have too many Murphy's involved with the Giants

not seen much of murphy, but think wakefield are sad to lose him and is abit of a star in there team...

hopefully he can put pressure on grix for the full back spot who isnt the best last line of defence tackling wise

not too sad to see raleigh go, writing has been on the wall along time, kirmond is the bigger loss but again he hasnt been the same since he did his knee...both players now not regulars in the starting 17

Murphy is a far better fullback than Grix.

Defensively very good, attacking wise, not sure, may find out next year as its not something he has really had to think about over the last couple of years!

I do not know how sigining a young english back and offloading two back rowers who would struggle to get a game due to the Giants strength in that position can be seen as a backward step.
Not knocking either player who has left as they have both given 100% for the Giants but the move makes sense for both us and Wakey.

Ferguson is a better player than Kirmond.

Isn't Murphy a long term injury though? I've hardly seen anything of him this season that I can recall.

played 20 super league games. i believe he had an operation before the end of the season so missed the last few games.

no chance. he isnt going to get a game at FB if grix is fit and not covering elsewhere.

I always find Murphy's are always far more intelligent/handsome/skilled with a football in their hands than any other.

Another young british talent within Giants set up. Cannot comment on him as I have not seen much of him play.

Mate whether Grix is fit or not Murphy is a better player than Grix I have seen both of em play in front of me and I can honestly say Murphy is better

Murphy played a few blinders at full back. Defensively swooped back and put in some shuddering tackles. Defensively you wont find many better.

His attacking play is ok but that's what needs work. Murphy is a good player and can be consistently good. Not so sure he can be a star but its a good signing for you.

As for Kirmond - played well and many wanted to keep him at wakey on his loan. Was playing regular and looking like a good player in the making. Maybe he's just not kicked on but if he replicated anything like his loan spell form I'll be happy. Only 25 though.
Raleigh- don't know too much about him but hope he is a solid performer.

It finishes off our forwards as: southern, lauititi, Moriano, Johnson, Kirmond, Raleigh, Spiers, masselott all able to play SR. Big depth there and I'm happy so far.

Good deal for both teams. I'll follow up murphys progress but I would argue he would take the fb spot from Grix.

Like the signing and whilst I always respected andy r , if our coach does not believe he's good enough, there's not really much logic in us keeping him.

good deal imo kirmond is shocking in defence and for me raleigh has had his day, too upright in attack we have too many 2nd rowers as it is so we have released our weakest 2 imo, as for murphy think we are short on centres anyway after joe and leroy so should be good cover, also think bruno will now move upto the 2nd row and cover centre/ wing if req.

watch the Leeds game there were 13 players that excelled in the shocking defence catorgory.How can you say he's shocking in defence he as had some good games for us both in attack and defence.

You saw grix play when he was at Wakefield, when he was getting playing advice from kermit - before he learnt his trade from one of the best in Brett hodgson. A completely different player from when he left Wakefield.

I would say Grix is better going forward but Murphy is the better defender.
