| What a great question and the more I think about it the further I get from an answer.
After initially agreeing with Hangerman 2 I then realise there's no place for Iffy, Pryce, Hewitt and other game changers. I can only think Watto's got some sleepless nights ahead.
Maybe Masters and Naiqama are slow starters, since they've played so little top class rugby over the last 2 years, Connor takes a while to get fully fit? This possibly gives some breathing space early on to accommodate more of the squad. But eventually without loaning out, or rotating the bench each week he's got one massive headache looming!

| Sorry hangarman It’s impossible for me to choose a starting 17. I’ve tried and I just can’t do it. There’s not only too much choice for each position but there’s so many different combinations due to the utility we have. We just have an embarrassment of riches to choose from, there isn’t a single position where I could say who Watson will start with apart from LF in all honesty.
It’s an excellent position to be in and I expect preseason will be extremely competitive which can only bode well.
Fullback - tui, pryce, golding
Wings- Jerry, bibby naiqama senior golding
Centres- Leroy, Marsters, Bibby naiqama
Halves- Russell, fages, pryce, tui
Hooker, peat, roby, AOB, golding
Props, Wilson, trout, hill, English, rushton,
Second row, mcqueen livett, Jones hewitt
Then you’ve still got Bruno, greenwood, Seb, Bibby, halsall rush McGowan etc to consider!!!! And I haven’t even thought about Connor as we dont know when he will be available.
Wow!

| We certainly do have some strength in depth. I have no doubt we will be playing exactly the same way we did last year, but that Watson sees Connor as the answer to our inability to convert possession near the line into points. He has been described as the most dangerous player in the league 10 yards out as thats where his skill and guile comes into play and he doesn't have to rely on pace. Time will tell if that will be a winning strategy but i can see his plan. We are still vulnerable to pace out wide, and other sides really latched onto this near the back end of the season, how we deal with teams that try to exploit this will probably define our season, or at least the backend of it. The real question is, will Watson be able to improve our performances in games that count, that is where we have been and continued to be last year, truly woeful over the years.

I’m not sure lack of pace out wide is as such a big issue- naiqama was the fastest player in his squad last year, remember senior outpaced regan grace, pryce has pace too. But I suppose it depends if Watson decides to play them.

We will never have a fully fit squad, nobody ever does. But the good thing is, as you've all mentioned, we have depth in every position. We could arguably have 2 top class starting 13s
